Enemies to lovers
This definitely gave off enemies to lovers vibes- as well as grumpy sunshine. Lola is a complex character, she’s got a lot of family drama going on and she takes it all on her shoulders. She’s a loving and loyal person but it’s also her downfall.. she doesn’t know how to put herself first. Ben is the owner of the tattoo shop that resides next to Lola’s bakery. From their very first meeting the two of them find things to fight about. But you know how the saying goes… it’s a fine line between love and hate. Things turn hot and heavy between the two of them, especially after Ben learns Lola is in trouble. One thing that did drive me a bit crazy was the constant repeating of “Old Lola/New Lola” like we get it, she’s trying to be a new version of herself. But constantly talking about herself in the third person that way got on my nerves after a while.I was really happy to see the relationship between Ben and his family improve. And the extended epilogue was a sweet look into their future.

Meh
Honestly, this wasn’t for me. It took me 6 days to drag myself through it. The main character Lola is the childish, annoying, self deprecating, self proclaimed protector of her family. She’s a character with so much inner monologue i wanted to scream.it’s not even inner monologue with a purpose, it’s just her repeating the same things over and over again about how now she’s new Lola with a new lease on life who will stand up for herself and she’s no longer old Lola who covered up her dad‘s gambling addiction. And then she meets her grumpy neighbor Ben. While Ben’s character is way more tolerable, he’s a cringy dominant daddy from Wattpad.he’s controlling an over protective, with a female sidekick named Hattie, who was a likable character. I just couldn’t connect with a main character that was so meek and honestly, pathetic. there was little to no action or excitement in this plot. I could see the idea being good but it just wasn’t put together in an interesting way for the story. The plot fizzles out about 1/4 of the way through this book. However, the spicy epilogue was good.

Amazing Book love the chemistry
I absolutely love the chemistry that Ben and Lola have with each other. At their first interaction you can tell that they are meant to be more. Lola is loyal to a fault for her family even when they don’t deserve it but over time thanks to Ben she sees that it’s ok to accept being taken care for by someone else. Ben character grows as to always never judge a book by its cover. Both characters have family issues but they stand up for each other because they see each other strengths when everyone else doesn’t. I highly highly recommend this book.

Daddy Ben is my favorite
Holy mackerel. This book. While it’s part of her series and includes snippets of characters from previous books, Bittersweet is slightly darker, with more drama and angst as we follow Lola and Ben trying to make their own footprints in the world.Ben started his own tattoo shop after leaving home and refusing to take over his dads construction business. He struggles with guilt over that decision, saddling his younger brother with the family business. Lola, similarly, struggles with family issues. She’s the mayor’s daughter, and after losing her mother fifteen year prior, she struggles to make sure her younger sister doesn’t learn about their very tainted past. While everyone assumes she is privileged and has everything handed to her, Lola takes out loans to open her dream bakery and learns how to do everything, even fixing old hand-me-down ovens, from YouTube.Ben fights his attraction to Lola hardcore. He doesn’t want a relationship, and certainly not with a sunshiney bundle of happiness who wears braids with bows in her hair. Lola doesn’t know what to make of her feelings for Ben. He’s dark and broody, covered in tattoos and piercings. When Lola’s past comes front and center, Ben must step in and try to protect her. It’s then that he realizes their connection and chemistry (and it is complete 🔥🔥 and Morgan’s best to date) isn’t something that comes around every day.And let me tell you this: Morgan told me her plans for the next book and it is AMAZING where she’s going with this series. I legit can’t wait!

Adorable
Firstly I love stand-alone series because I do not have to read the other books to follow along this one.I loved this grumpy/sunshine romance. Ben and Lola were fantastic. However it was more like Grumpy/sunshine-grump.Lola wasn’t a bouquet of sweet flowers, girly gave Ben a hard time and did now back down. She had insecurities and for the most part, didn’t let that stop her from being strong, confident, capable.Ben was 100% a grumpy cinnamon roll. The man was a totally marshmallow. This story was the cutest.

WOW!
After reading book one of the series, I skipped to Bittersweet because the dynamic seemed more my style and holy hell am I happy I did! I don’t typically enjoy more “established” dom/sub dynamics in the bedroom scenes of the books I read, so when I noticed that at first I got a little worried, but the steam was STEAMY! Very worth it!I enjoyed seeing both characters struggle with their own failings. Loved seeing the MMC guide the FMC into the relationship and them come together. 10/10!

What Grumpy/Sunshine dreams are made of
I loved this story. It was a slower build but so satisfying and hot.Contains a few of my top kinks and left me very satisfied. The storyline was different for this series.

Thank you
Thank you so much for the warning on the epilogue!!! Without giving spoilers, that was one. Of the kindest things I have ever seen done for your readers. The story was great too!!!! Don’t get me wrong haha but this comment is absolutely about that kindness.

Honestly, I never not finish books. I usually force myself even if I’m not enjoying the reading but this book I couldn’t stand anymore. The female character is full of issues with her dad then she finds a guy that likes to be called “daddy”?! All the characters are super annoying, MMC is rude and weird. There’s nothing I like about this book not even the bedroom scenes.

could have been better…
I really wanted to love these guys, Im all on board with flawed characters but they didn’t have the redeeming qualities to go along with it. The steamy scenes were good but I could have done without her calling him daddy though!

Enough spice to make you blush!
I did NOT expect a book about a baker and a tattoo artist to MAKE ME BLUSH ... but it did.Ben and Lola are off the charts. It started innocent and all grumpy/sunshine, a little enemies to lovers and we quickly realized that Lola isn't all that she appears.I loved the depth of who Lola was and that Ben was really the first person she stood up for herself around. Everytime she told him to get lost, I cheered internally a little bit!I dont usually love when a guy calls a woman "sweet girl", BUT.... Ben Coleman has a bit of a praise "shmink" and it takes that endearment to a WHOLE other level. And come on, who doesn't love a good old "touch her and unalive" protector vibes. But it isn't in a damsel in distress way, because Lola isn't incapable of standing on her own two feet, she is strong and Ben knows it and encourages it.Total homerun, Morgan! A little sweet, a little sassy, some suspense and a WHOLE lot of spice.

Grumpy/sunshine
Bittersweet by Elizabeth Morgan is the 3rd book of the ocean view series. I’ve loved every book so far and this one is no different. Though no one can take the place of Vic and Gabi (Vic and Gabi for life!) I did enjoy this couple. I’ve been curious about Ben since the substitution (springbok hills series book 3) and he did not disappoint I love a grumpy, broody jerk with a heart of gold, bonus points for being a tattoo artist. Lola was great I liked that she was sunshine and rainbows while also taking no crap from anyone. I did find there were parts that seemed repetitive but I feel like being in Lola’s head it fit. It was like she kept reminding her self why she wanted to be new Lola. Though I am not a fan of daddy kink this story kept me hooked the entire time and wanting to know what happened next. As usual I loved another book by Morgan Elizabeth and can not wait to see what she brings us next. If you love a good grumpy/sunshine neighbours I would definitely give this one a try.

Took so long to get nowhere.. the story has so much potential but is ruined by pointless paragraphs of thoughts that weren't even necessary.. a simple "yes" would do.The love interest is a judgemental brut who is narcissistic af and Hattie kinda just needs to mind her business.Even tried to skim to get to a good part but it was all pointless drivvle.Another failed tiktok recc
