Simply Beautiful!
After purchasing a ceramic utility knife (and cutting my fingers to ribbons without even being aware of it at first...lesson learned...please do respect the scapel like sharpness of ceramic knives lol) I fell in love with the amazing way ceramic knives perform. So I decided to get a set. All that was missing was an 8 inch. This knife is not only gorgeous to look at, but cuts larger items like a dream. The packaging is lovely and quite classy looking as well which makes it an excellent item for gift giving. Shipping was prompt and the item was well protected.Currently I would say that I highly recommend this knife. However, I will update with (hopefully) a fith Star after I’ve had it a while longer so that I can speak to the durability or lack thereof of this blade. On that note, I will add that ceramic knives do need an extra bit of TLC as opposed to the more traditional kitchen knives if you want to keep them around for any length of time. They should never, ever go in the dishwasher, which is annoying to some folks, but the clean up easily enough by hand, nor should they be, bent or torqued at odd angles, used to pry things apart, or to debone or cut through extremely dense food items or else the blade will break or chip. They should also always be kept in their protective casings in between use...that is simply the nature of ceramic blades in general and is no reflection on the quality or craftsmanship of the knife in question.

Brief, but detailed review of iHOMEER's 8" Ceramic Knife. Spoiler alert: GET IT.
iHOMEER 8 Inch Ceramic Chef Knife Infinity Blade Ceramic Kitchen Knife Healthy Chef Cutlery Ergonomic Handle Chef's Knives with Sheath BlackiHOMEER 8 Inch Ceramic Chef Knife Infinity Blade Ceramic Kitchen Knife Healthy Chef Cutlery Ergonomic Handle Chef's Knives with Sheath Black I love this Knife. I love the Customer Service. And there's a reason that this is "Amazon's Choice." I'll be quick, and I'll lay down the pro's an con's:Pros:- This knife is beautiful, comes in a beautiful box, and extremely effective.- The knife isn't quite as sharp as a Kyocera knife. It's thicker, and far less prone to chipping. (And that could be a "con" for those so inclined)- Not only does it get the job done, but it does it well. iHOMEER, a new-comer on the Knife-scene deserves recognition.- The product arrives in a beautiful box, with the requisite blade protector.- In the photo I provided, the knife made very quick work (under 2 minutes) of my meal.- The iHOMEER really holds up. Very well. It's also a darn good looking knife.- The value cannot be beat.- Balance is perfect. (At least, for me)- Customer service is top-notch. The packaging is beautiful, and highly fit as a gift.CONS:- Again, the knife isn't quite as sharp as a Kyocera. That can either be a pro or con depending on your use. But it's close. It's not quite a surgeon's scalpel.- Nothing else.It appears iHOMEER (a brand with which I had no familiarity) is relentlessly focused on customer service, and the knife is unusually effective. I rarely write reviews, but this knife deserves it. I have a $200 Japanese Chef Knife: I have a $10 steel knife. Yet, I find myself continuing to prepare all of my veggies with this knife. Well done, iHOMEER. Keep it up.

Not very sharp
This is my first ceramic knife purchase, and frankly I'm a little disappointed. For the price, this knife has a surprisingly good build quality and appearance. It's a real pleasure to hold, and feels like it would be comfortable for extensive cutting. Unfortunately, none of that means very much because the blade is not particularly sharp. I did a side-by-side comparison with my steel kitchen knife on both an apple and an onion, and the steel knife cut far easier, even though I didn't sharpen it before the test. Given that you can't sharpen ceramic knives by conventional means, I wouldn't recommend this knife. It's sharp enough to get the job done, but just barely. I couldn't quite bring myself to give it less than 3 stars though, simply because I will be keeping it as a back up, and it was only 10 bucks.

Great way to *taste* ceramic knives.
This is our first ceramic knife. An awesome knife at an awesome price! = 5 stars. Have been using for 3 months, and last week it chipped - 2 stars! Cutting the top off a plastic honey bottle! Chip photos attached. We were able to use a grinding wheel to sharpen the chipped area and we are patched and rolling. Will update if further chipping adds information.

Jury's still out
I needed a knife this size and was hoping it was like my other ceramic knives. I have two issues, one the sleeve is unbelievably tight. Most importantly the knife is not sharp enough for me. It just kinda marls the paper towel test. Too thick to cut clean. Chopping spinach, ok but mostly pulvarizes it rather then chop. I'm going to try to sharpen, if that works I will come back and change review. The only reason it got 2 stars, the handle and size are nice.

Not quite as sharp as a freshly honed carbon steel ...
Not quite as sharp as a freshly honed carbon steel, but close - and I don;t have to sharpen it.

Not sharp enough
I bought this knife to replace my Kyocera Ceramic knife which accidentally got broken. I’ve had Kyocera knife for about 3 years and at the end it was almost as sharp as when I bought it. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about iHomeer knife, it’s not sharp enough – when chopping lettuce it’s rather smashes it than chops, and same goes for tomatoes. To me, sharpness is the main reason one would buy ceramic knife. I’m going to try to sharpen it but if it doesn’t work… oh well, it means, it was somewhat a waste of money... The reason I gave it 3 stars: 1) the knife looks perfect, it’s very helpful to have a sleeve, 2) the price was great, and 3) the packaging was very nice

This is a great knife. I've had it for a while now and I haven't had to sharpen it at all and it cuts very nicely.
