This is one of the most versatile and thus one of the most useful items for developing motor skills in our line for toddlers to five year olds. It gives children a chance to develop all sorts of skills appropriate for their age. Climbing on the bars gives them sense of place of their body in space where they have an opportunity to test, retest, and perfect their climbing abilities using all their limbs and body. Variations are many, suitable for beginner athletes as well as advanced ones and everyone in between. Given children’s imagination, the climbing structure and the ramp can have many uses originally not designed for, like a house, just throw a sheet over it, make a barrier between one part of the room and another, tunnel and a passage to somewhere else. We’ll leave it to your imagination. I specifically designed this climber for my wife to use in her toddler classroom. She wanted something like the Pikler triangles she had seen but she didn't want it to claim permanent space in her indoor environment. With this design the kids can enjoy it indoors when the weather is not so great, outdoors on those gorgeous days and she can pull it out during those times that some children just can’t focus using the smaller ‘works’ in the classroom. My Toddler Triangle Climber will be a good fit for your home or classroom environment. It’s durability and portability allows for use when you want it and the ability to put it out of site when other work needs to be focused on for the child. This structure allows for you to keep your space for your child small and intimate without restricting their opportunity to use their whole body in an indoor environment to support natural motor development. Spacing between rungs is 3.75 inches. It’s lightweight at less than 14 lbs. but durable so you can bring it outside and still be able to move it inside one handed. This ladder is meant to help children explore and challenge themselves. Adult supervision is required at all times.

Still goin strong after over 3 years of toddler classroom daily use
March 2020 update...We have had this Pikler over 3 years now in a toddler classroom and is still going strong. My coworkers now all have the same model with the same results. I also have a wooden PATH balance beam, and a Pikler cube that they made as well. I have been working with toddlers for over 20+ years and these are THE best I have found. Solid wood...not plywood like many and is Much easier to store because hinge is narrow. It is exactly what we wanted. It got here quickly and it was ready to go. Wife is using it in her toddler classroom and they are loving it.Thumbs up from kids and wife.***added note***Wife has been using it for over a year in her toddler classroom with daily use and they still gravitate to it. We have since gotten the Slope( thats their slide) and PATH (their balance beam) . So glad to spend the money on good solid toys that can get em moving

Perfect for a small space and a busy toddler!
This was my first purchase from Amazon handmade and I am very satisfied. The triangle arrived in a reasonable amount of time, was already assembled, and is well made and sturdy. Most importantly, our (very active) 16 month old loved it immediately! It's a great addition to our small apartment.ETA - reducing one star after several months of use, because the lack of a latch or lock feature is nerve-wracking. It easily slides closed when my toddler leans against it and can fall over. We are trying to figure out a DIY lock method.

broke within about six months
We loved this triangle and were excited for our younger baby to begin using it too, but it spontaneously broke in half near the hinge. Our daughter mostly used it as a fort, draping blankets over the top, so I don't think we were stressing it in any way. The seller said this was an issue with how it was originally packaged and said they'd send a new one, but never followed up and haven't answered communication from me or Amazon in months. Now it's mostly just frustrating, but it's also scary to think that it could have snapped when one of the kids were climbing it.

Slightly dangerous
This is great when it is open for climbing, and I do like that it folds up. However, my 12 month old is able to push it around the room, and will push it into a wall or couch and is able to close it on his own. It then falls and is very heavy! Luckily it hasn't landed on him yet, but I wish there was a lock feature so that it would stay in the triangle position.

Perfect gift for a climber
This is a very well made item. It is aesthetically pleasing, smooth rungs for the little climber, and sturdy. It is large enough for the climber and a friend but doesn’t take up much space.

Yes, wonderful for toddlers. Yes, dangerous folding/pinching mechanism.
I got this a year ago when my son was just about a year old. It served us great - he learned to climb safely and it gave him something wonderful to climb, instead of furniture like the changing table. Major con: as other reviewers have noted, the bolt loosens over time and it becomes really easy to fold, leading to an incredibly dangerous pinching hazard, especially when more than one child is playing on it. Also looking to improvise some sort of latch solution. Wish that it had a way to Tighten the bolts, which are hidden. Otherwise we have appreciated the ability to put it away in our small house. We’ve loved it so much that I’m now looking at buying the ramp/slide to go with it.

Sturdy climber!
I have three grandchildren, ages 14 months, 15 months and 26 months- all wanting to climb. So I purchased this STEP Pikler triangle and placed it in our front sunroom on a tumbling mat. Meets their developmental needs, and is worth every dime! Contructed well of high quality materials. I would've appreciated knowing what the stopper thing was for; some instruction would've been helpful. I believe it for when we fold it up, to secure it closed, but don't really know for sure.

Well constructed
The rounded “steps” were a little slippery for my 11 month grandson but he was able to climbI hope when he gets older he will have more control on the steps - we tried socks with special bottoms and bare feet, but he still slippedThe item is well constructed and well made
