Model 1635 Portable 63(W) x138(L) Inch Effective Cutting CNC Machine for Plasma/Gas Cutting Equipment

I was very hesitant to purchase this machine since it is relatively expensive if it doesn't work, but a steal if it does.My first portion of the review is about the seller Newlin machinery. The seller has been fantastic regarding communication and addressing the several small issues I've had. Questions were answered with 12 hours and they always had an answer.There is not a lot of information out there on these things. So, I'll offer a little bit that I didn't know going in to this.First, the THC ( torch height controller) is packed full of options. It has the default option to use physical touch off to set height and an optional ohmic sensing input which is nice for thin materials.Second, this machine can be used with any plasma cutter that is not high frequency start. Everything is pre wired except the trigger circuit and the arc voltage input. This THC requires raw voltage. For this you simply tap into the + and - on the torch and ground clamp.Finally, with simple button pushes you can turn on and off auto/ manual torch height control, pierce delay, check arc, etc. It really does work well.Now for the machine. The extruded aluminum track contains two steel rails that the machine rides on. This is very precise and has virtually zero play. The track comes in two pieces and needs to be mounted on each end and in the middle. Track mounts to brackets with t-blots. All hardware is included.X and y drives are rack and pinion. They will need to be cleaned and greased occasionally.There are no limit switches to prevent over travel. However, the machine will run out of rack before it falls off the track.The software is basic, but the menus are fairly intuitive and the shape library is easy to modify and very useful. Does NOT read DXF files. This is a major bummer. Need to convert to g-code or cnc or a few others.Max travel speed is 118 in/minute. This is fine for most cutting and probably the fastest you would want to go with a non gantry machine. There is occasionally mild shudder when the arm is fully extended, but it's not too bad.Overall, for less than 5k, I have a 5x10 cnc plasma table with water bed and 80 amp cutter. Pretty cool.

Paid for itself prolly 5 times now. Cut anything from 2-3 in with torch, amazed how accurate it really is. At 5ft out it has s little wobble but its mostly the table i made for it. One of best things ive ever bought.

I could not find where anyone had ordered one of these to give any information on it.I ordered it April 7, gave me a delivery around the end of May, to my surprise it came in today April 25th. So far I have only openened the boxes that it looked like customs didn't close up all the way, don't believe anything is missing, there are a some scratches and dents on the main bottom rail which concerned me but realized it was the bottom and shouldn't effect it in any way.Bad news is I am heading out of town in the morning and cannot mess with it until next week.First appearance it looks like a good purchase I will know for sure next week and will update.
