The edges of the stamped metal housing should be ground smooth. I cut my finger pretty nastily just throwing this bold open, caught the meat of my thumb in the housing. Took a nice chunk out. Caution.

This arrived timely which some slight scratches from the manufacturing process. The bolt is very large and strong but the metal it's incased in is super thin. I'd guess 24-26ga stainless steel. The base of the lock is the sheet metal bent back over itself with an extra sheet added for some strength. I can start to bend it apart with my bare hands. So I'm not sure if it would stop someone kicking in a door. It might slow them down but it just leaves me somewhat doubtful. The included hardware was 3/4" #6 screws. I used 1 1/2" #8 screws and they worked well on our 1 5/8" door. I don't think #10 screws will fit the countersunk holes. The stay for the bolt seems well done and I think it would work vertically as well. I'd probably buy it again given its low price and decent value but if you something super strong I'd consider other options.

Item was delivered quickly and was as described. However I needed the bolt end to be longer (wanted to use it on double wooden gate doors). I should have paid more attention to the photo. I needed at least 1/2 the bolt length to slide out of the device where only about 1 1/2 inches slides out. Screws included seem a bit shorter than I would use for the heft of the item. I did not return since I can surely find another place to use the item.

Not very good stainless. Installed on a pressurized wood gate and trusting out in less than 2 years.
