This worked well for 2+ years but now the USB-C connection is unreliable
This worked well for 2+ years (and was used infrequently at home) but now the USB-C connection is unreliable. You have to wiggle it in just the right way to get it to work :-(

I purchased this CAC reader for new MacBook but there was no place it would plug in. It had a big connector on it and my computer has only little ports. I contacted the company and they noted I bought a SGT111-8 with a USB A connector but I really needed to order the SGT111-8c with USB C (or Thunderbolt). They quickly sent me the proper reader and with some help from a friend I was on DISA EE and MyPay within 30 minutes on my Macbook. Make sure you order the proper connector type for your computer. They explained it to me that many new computers use Type C and most old computers use Type A but it's not that simple.

Does what it is supposed to
Easy to set up. No problem with installing the drivers. Worked first time and every time since. (You may need to get some advice with getting the necessary security certificates if you do not work with them regularly.The unit is sturdy and well constructed. Although I've only had it a week (in some rather rough conditions), I expect good durability out of it.You can get a cheaper DOD/CAC reader but based on some of the reviews, it might be more challenging to set up and may not last.I'm quite satisfied with this device.

Very Good Reader!
Good card reader. I like it for the usb-c connection. Great use for my laptop. Overall a great reader, no problems at all.

Totally satisfied
Works perfectly on both my Surface Pro and Macbook Air. Now I can check MyPay, DTS and my email from both home and while traveling. One pleased customer!

OK product but cheaply made
It works just fine with my MacBook Pro, however, the connector is really cheap and flimsy
