Design WorksCrafts Fabulous Fall Counted Cross Stitch Kit, Mulitcolor

I love this design because it is intricately beautiful and the colors are my favorites. But I struggled with following the chart for several hours before I had to put it away. The chart is printed even smaller than the actual finished product size, and the corresponding floss symbols are so small that I had to get under the strongest light to discern them, and still had trouble seeing which color I was supposed to be using. I may find somewhere that can enlarge the chart so that it can be read, but this will incur an additional cost, adding insult to injury. So be forewarned if you have trouble with seeing very small print.

Being a 30 year cross stitcher, I have worked from many charts. The print is way too small and the chart looks like the equivalent of a photocopy quality, so agree with a previous reviewer here about her complaint. The white aida, like that included in many kits, has just a 2" border instead of the 3" recommended by most framers, and is just about average quality, so I will replace it with better quality aida. Beyond these complaints, the design is beautiful, but I have not started the kit yet or worked with the threads in one of this company's kits.

When I saw this cross stitch I thought it was beautiful. I had to wait a little over three weeks to get it. It came today and I'm very disappointed. First of all, the picture on the Amazon page (I'm not blaming Amazon) shows the flower arrangement has a background that looks like a grey paneled wall. This does not exist in the design as you can see in the picture. It's only background is the white Aida cloth. Then the instructions are very small and in black and white. I already wear 3.5 glasses and work with a magnifier light. This is going to be hard to see. The thread is numbered on the bottom of the page, but on the card that holds the thread there is nothing to say which color is which. I guess I'll have to figure that out for myself. I'll keep the kit, but I wanted to warn anyone else who is thinking about buying this misrepresented cross stitch about the pitfalls.
