😭😭😭😭
So the seventh book is, I warn you, the most heart breaking of them all so far!!The gang have lost Suzy to the Melusine, but she's not the only person who won't be going back to Savannah. But before that happens, Bree has her first date in over 20 years. Remy is all kinds of yummy and Bree is lapping this up.That is until Alan shows up.....damn it!!Now there is a new problem, scratch that, several problems to deal with and one of them is a person she no longer wishes to speak to!!It seems like each time she puts out a fire, she notices another just breaking out. What's worse though, is the Begird spell is breaking down.Ok I lied, what's worse actually is the fact that, there are now several people wanting her dead and gone. But who else is after her and why has somebody also sent the Boogeyman after her screaming, "Today you die guardian!!" I mean....really??But where is the council?? What has happened to them all?? And where have all the vendors on Death Row disappeared to?? What the hell is going on?? However, Bree will pull up her big girl panties and as usual, will go charging in all guns blazing and hoping she doesn't fart in front of Remy!!This is only some of the stuff going on around her, to know more , you need to buy the book yourself. And trust me you won't regret it....But if you're reading this, I'm guessing that you've already read the prior six books, and therefore, you're fully aware of the action, laughter and possible cat chasing that goes on in these books!!Along with the book is of course the audio and again we have the utterly amazing and talented Lauren Fortgang narrating. What can I say, that I've not already mentioned prior?!?!She brings the characters alive like no one else can!!The characters personalities soar under her expertise. Her comedic talent and expertise, will have you laughing with tears and a horrid stitch in your side and your cheeks hurting from the grin of laughter. But she can also inject the utter sadness of loss and/or betrayal. And the anguish of a deep loss!!Throughout the entirety of the novel, Lauren delivers all of this and more.Put the sheer brilliance of Shannon and her writing, with the unwavering talent of Lauren and you have one explosive pair!!Both are recommended a million percent and more 😎😎

Different from the usual fantasy series
I read a lot of fantasy series and many seem to be very similar with a teenage hero or heroine coming from a very poor background becoming a worldy wise leader within the space of a few chapters. I never seem to complete reading these type of series and give up half way through. This series is completely different as the heroine is an overweight forty something divorcee. Her character is well rounded as are the motley crew of friends that she acquires on her adventures and I think that this is the first series that I have actually finished and left me wanting for more. The only slight negative is the heroine's frequent swearing which I think in unnecessary

Great twisty plot with drama
Can not put this down - my house could fall apart around me. Escapism at its very best. Cant wait for the last book.

Amazing! ♥️
Omg! Idk how many more times I’m going to say that in my reviews of this series - no, actually I do, twice more cos there’s 2 more to go (only 2 to go! 😩) Wowzsers, the action, pace, twists and intrigue just keep increasing as the book goes on. Realisations, betrayals (a big one! Ayeyayay, the ‘if somethings too good to be true’ saying couldn’t be more apt for this), declarations of love, strengthening bonds of friendship and, as always, some great laugh aloud moments - what a fantastic continuation of Bree’s story! ♥️🙏🏽

Well I did not expect that
Book 7 and I'm still hooked, just when you think you know what's going to happen next a new twist hits. A totally unput downable book. Good job I don't have work in the morning. I forgot to put the book down and it's now 3am

Oh my word
Well, this book has had me shouting out loud, as a disagreement to Bree's choices, then as processing all the information and cheering her on. It then made my cry, with further tears that the book as ended. For me, this is the best book yet but I'm feeling impatient it's ended. Well done Shannon Mayer just when I think the series couldn't get any better!

Midlife back pain??
Dating in your forties is not any easier for Bree. When you love bad boys, anything and everything can go wrong. Bree knows how to find trouble and trouble finds her. This is a great series and I think this series could be a great TV show or movie! I would LOVE to see it. Bree is in a love triangle and she needs to decide who she loves, eventually. As Bree tries to stop the dark counsel from making a spell that will end the world, action is around every corner. Can she stop the spell without losing more friends? This is a wonderful story and I also listened to most of it as a audio book, Lauren Fortgang is a great narrator. I'd love to learn from her. Anyone interested in action and ghosts, fey, witches, goblins, and more, you need to read this series!

Cats and Flowers
First off, I love Bree's friends. A more loyal bunch you'll never find. But Feish is the best. I would want a Feish in my corner. Cats and Flowers to you, Feish! So Bree and her Scooby gang are still on their scavenger hunt, searching for those rare ingredients for that spell in order to prevent the baddies from performing it. There's very little down time in this book (except for one night of smexy time). Lots of action, a few revelations and some tears.5 star worthy!

Remy or Crash or both?
Of course, this was the big question for me being team Crash from the beginning, I was on the edge of my seat hoping Remy would go away!Having said that, Remy is a nice addition to the gang and he made Bree happy so it was very nice to see after her issues with Alan, Crash and Corb.Bree is still out to stop the dark council from releasing the vampire horde or is that what they are really up to? The puzzle becomes more confusing as they try to unravel the mystery.Overall, there is a tightly woven storyline, laughs, heartache and even some romance thrown in. A very entertaining addition to this series!

Love 💘 this series!
I've always thought the Rylee series was my absolute favorite by Shannon Mayer -- and I still love, love, LOVE it! But my new most favorite now is her 40 proof series. It has everything I love in her books : action; a kick butt female lead (despite her "midlife" need for lots of Advil ); lots of hot 🔥 guys who really LIKE her (though some may end up just using her); a slow burn romance; great world building and unique characters; and best of all, true love 💘 with just the right amount of spice! And did I mention it 's really funny? Can't wait for the next one!
