amazing story and the most polished Real Time JRPG battle system that is both fun and tactical, if you havent played the Xenoblade series then i urge you to start and then comeback and buy this one and just see how amazing this series is

I played XC on Wii and never got far into the story, the combat system just didn’t hook me, the voice acting was awful, and the costumes for the female characters were off putting. XC II came out and looked like more of the same, and got some really negative reviews so I passed on it. I ordered XC III on a whim because I felt like an RPG fix whilst waiting for TotK and finished BotW. I was apprehensive about the combat system, which I knew had been tweaked but still contains auto attacks. Boy, was I worried for no reason! XC III has been designed to incorporate all the battle features that had been left for late game in previous games into the early game, so combat is no longer stale and automatic, but actually requires player engagement. The story (no spoilers) is set up really well and engaging from the start. The art is more mature, and the costumes of the characters are still very much JRPG style but have lost the excessively revealing ridiculous costumes for female characters that really jarred with me previously. Voice acting is a little cheesy still at the edges but vastly improved on previous games, I actually turn the volume up now for cutscenes instead of playing on mute! The world is varied and feels alive, the game rewards you for exploring with new heroes to play as, side quests to complete and XP to gain. I’m 25 hours in and so far everything has been interesting, it has never felt grindy, bigger battles are challenging but not impossible, I haven’t felt massively under or over levelled at any point.If you’re a JRPG fan you have this already, if you’re an RPG fan buy this already, if you’re neither, buy it anyway you’ll love it.Also got a GotY nomination! As a Switch exclusive!
