Prime – The Best Solid Steel License Plate Frame Parking Bumper Protector (Silver)

Being I live and park my Cadillac DeVille in Manhattan NY, this is exactly what everyone that parks on city streets needs. I had had a few dings and scrapes on my bumper cover from careless drivers / parkers. So, instead of spending $450 on body work to repaint my bumper cover. I decided to fix my bumper cover myself, by sanding all the scratches and dings out. Then I used 3 coats of primer, 3 coats of base coat, then 3 coats of clear coat.My bumper cover looked brand new again. So, I wanted to protect it. At first I was going to go with the plastic / rubber Bumpershox. But, it looks kind of bulky. Especially for a Cadillac. Not only that, the Bumpershox only protrudes about 2 inches. When I noticed the 4Bumper Prime, it looked less bulky, it's solid steel and it protrudes 4 inches. So, I bought one. It's extremely sturdy and it's not cheap...it has the weight of being solid steel.It looks good and common sense says it will protect your front bumper. However, you should get some small rubber strips for the corners of your bumper cover, as a fail-safe.

Pros: Quality, sturdy construction that blends in somewhat on my car (in other words, it doesn't look too goofy going down the road). One serious pro is that I am now much more comfortable parking in tight spaces because I can pull up close to the wall in front of me, "tap" it with this plate, and then back off (with no damage to my car).Cons: I didn't realize how my front license plate was mounted (with only two screws; not four), so I assume that in a collision this plate might damage my bumper MORE because it would be ripped off instead of absorbing the force. However, this is my fault for not recognizing how the plate is mounted (you need it to be on a bumper and with 4 screws holding your plate in).

What can I say...I live in New York City, where parking is at a premium and folks will try and squeeze a truck in a space big enough for a Yaris (as seen in photo). I recently traded in my old car for a new one and didn't want folks backing up into me while parked so I purchased this 4Bumpers Prime. This was actually going to be installed in the front but I put it in the rear until I could purchase one of those rear complete bumper things. No sooner did I install this when I had this genius park his truck on top of mine. Luckily, there was no damage to my vehicle, but his front grille got cracked as a result. I've since installed it in the front and it keeps cars from backing up into your front grille. It's a great product and very strong and sturdy. I just feel like it's made for the front of your vehicle and not the back. It won't prevent people from scraping the side of your bumper when attempting to parallel park behind you.

Really heavy and was hard to screw on. Decided to return it. Great customer service on the companies end. Just didnt like how heavy it was and the difficulty of putting it on. Maybe it was with my car and screws but ehh not happy. Ill tell you, I think it surely will do the trick!

I had a g37x sedan and used your item on my back plate. I absolutely loved it and found this to be a great idea by you people. I had it in the lower position. Now I just got a new infiniti g37x coupe and am using the same one which I removed from my previous car. I did have to flop the frame to the upper position because the bumper is a bit lower than the sedan. Only thing is in this position I don't get as much of a protection as when its in the lower position. It comes out about half the amount not the whole piece. But, I still love the item and it does the job. Are u planning on selling this item to retail auto stores such as autozone or pep boys or any other outlets besides on the internet. I did get mine from Amazon. Thank you Amazon and thank you 4Bumpers as its been very difficult to find an item such as your's for my kind of car that doesn't take away any of the look and still give's me protection from those nasty scrapes and nicks.

I got them more to make my car look unique vs actually protecting bumper. I mounted license plate over the frame, but even if the plate were under the frame the tabs still show fine and are not obscured by the frame. The top two screws on each plate I just used the factory holes and then bought self drilling screws for the bottom two holes, it's a heavy duty frame and I didn't feel having only the top screws provided enough support. They look good, I do have a portable basketball system in the garage that I park up next to and they have held up after hitting that a couple times.

4bumpers is a great product. I put it on the front of my new Cadillac SRX (it looks sharp)and it has prevented all of those nasty and unsightly paint chips and transfer marks that occur when someone nudges your vehicle while parallel parking. It helps keep you vehicle looking good. It is well worth the price especially when you consider the cost of touching up your vehicle with some of those specialty paints (like diamond white metallic or platinum white tricoat) that cost a small fortune and are almost impossible to match perfectly. I will be installing 4bumpers on all of my new vehicles.Great product, I liked it so much I ordered a second one. everyone that sees it on my new car asks me about it.This seller was fast and the communication top notch.
