Great tips
People can say I love the recipies because I have used this book so much that I wore it out and had to replace it. I watched his cooking show on PBS when he became the health-conscious cook. His tips for healthy cooking are great and easy to do.

It is not for the Big Green Egg Mini Max
I bought thinking I could use it with my Big Green Mini Max. That is not the case so a I donated to the book to the local library

This is how all cookbooks should be done
Years ago, I purchased Graham Kerr's The Complete Galloping Gourmet cookbook. While I love some of the recipes in that book, and have made some of them my own, I found the book a little thin on detail, and while there are quite a few good color photographs, many of the recipes have none. Also, there's absolutely no nutritional information provided with the recipes. When I chanced upon the Minimax cookbook a few years later, I purchased it on the strength of it's layout - every recipe has a photo and nutritional profile along with the ingredients, preparation and cooking methodology. I added it to my library of cookbooks, but to be honest haven't picked it up since I bought it.Recently, in a concerted effort to lose 35 pounds, I started keeping track of calories in and out. With that success I've come to understand how important it is for my weight management to have good nutritional information available. While preparing a Paella Valencia (from the Galloping Gourmet), I suddenly recalled that I had the Minimax cookbook and dug it out of the archives. This book is a worthy addition to any cook's library, and offers a wide variety of interesting, out of the ordinary, yet healthful and tasty recipes. It's not s monsterous tome, and will not subsitute for Mastering the Art of French Cooking, or Joy of Cooking. Still it's a great resource to browse through visually (is there any better way!) for something good to eat. How can you not look at the photo for Lemon Kiwi Custard Pie and not immediately want to whip one up.In my own small way, I'm going to emulate Julie of Julie and Julia fame. I plan to make every dish in this book in the course of the coming year (starting with the desserts!)Enjoy

THE Cookbook to have if you are a foodie with health concerns!!!!
I bought this book when it first came out - I was privileged to buy Graham Kerr's complete set of cookbooks from his first TV series at a library book sale and the difference is astounding! Having read Minimax, I can convert what he wrote previously into a heart healthy menu. I love the way that Minimax is laid out, it is exceptionally clear, and you simply have to try his breakfast recipe with heart healthy granola, plain yogurt, kiwi fruit and strawberries - you will think you died and went to heaven!!!! Gorgeous pictures of the dishes described! Buy It and put it next to your Julia Child cookbooks and Joy of Cooking - you will be using it that often!
