Very nice expansion tank
These tanks are really nice, good quality and fit in close spaces. i have purchased two to these tanks for use on two of my restorations, 1967 Chevelle and 1967 Nova. I chose these because of the size and ability to fit in tight spaces while looking very nice. They are an easy install and I am very satisfied with these tanks. i had a problem with the brackets missing from my second order. After contacting Black Horse Racing, I was happy with the prompt response and replacements. I would recommend to a friend.

Nice for the price.
Nice finish on the overflow tank, 1/4" fittings for the hose. The spacing of the tabs is just under 10"OC. It made to go on the passenger side of the radiator, however the battery box interfered with that installation(65 C10). A couple of small pieces of 1x1 angle made the left side install golden. The o-ring groove in the cap seemed a bit oversized. But a dab of super weatherstrip adhesive fixed the issue.

Pretty Solid
Looks solid for the price. Haven’t seen how it performs yet since the car isn’t ready to start just yet. Easy install, small & sleek.4 Stars, I’ll update once the motor starts up and I confirm no leaks.

Build quality is top notch for the price and functions properly
Needed a simple and clean overflow tank for my C10 and came across this one. After seeing how much the other companies were charging for a simple design that's been around forever I didn't want to spend that kinda money. I was going to build one out of some stainless I had leftover from other projects but didn't have the time. So I came across this one and being all stainless steel was just what I was looking for. When I opened the box I was blown away by the build quality of this tank. All the welds were ground down and smoothed out the threaded bung for the cap is all tig welded along with the mounting tabs and the 2 tubes on the bottom. Welds are extremely uniform and as a welder myself along with OCD for uniformed welds I was extremely impressed with the build quality and attention to the little details like that when hardly anyone else would notice or even cared. Also the cap is solid stainless steel with an oring seal that seals perfect in the beveled threaded bung. Also comes with 2 mounting brackets and stainless hardware so you can mount the 2 brackets where you want and then mount the tank to the brackets.

Solid part, well made, nice quality chrome finish.
Installed the smallest (2" x 10") one as a radiator overflow can for my '72 Datsun 240Z, which did not come with one from the factory. Took a little work to position correctly, but works and looks great. Solid part, well made, nice quality chrome finish. Both tubes are too small diameter, but I made it work with several sections of heat shrink tubing. I wish larger diameter tubes an option.

A very good surge/overflow tank for a hot rod project vehicle
I installed this stainless steel surge tank in my 1966 Chevy C-10 Custom pickup truck that I have modified and it not only looks great, it handles any overflow from the 3 core aluminum radiator I have in the truck. Well constructed and comes with a universal bracket kit for mounting it in various vehicles.

Lefty, Loosey, Righty, Tighty, NOT!
The product looks nice and shiny. Nice welds, worth being under the hood of my classic hot rod. But, I either got a Friday production or the Chinese don't practice Lefty, Loosey, Righty, Tighty! I pulled out my massive channel locks, a strap wrench, even a pipe wrench trying to remove the cap. I then thought the aluminum and stainless steel had galvanized and fused together. So I used a syringe to put a strong alkaline liquid inside through one of the tubes. As I was placing my channel locks on the cap (over a leather glove, of course) the cap moved easily. I thought, Wow, that alkaline solution really did the trick! Until I realized it moved the wrong way! So, the tab inside the bottle was made on the wrong side of the ramp for the lid to engage in normal tighten/loosen fashion. Therefore, I have to turn the cap clockwise to open it and counter clockwise to close it! I'll keep it since it looks nice but I'd better put a label on the lid so I don't forget!

Using this on my LS engine as an overflow coolant/recovery tank. Perfect size takes up minimal room.
The one tube goes up about halfway to the top inside the tank. So its perfect. When my 15 lb cap on the radiator lets excess pressure into this tank when the engine is at 7,000 rpm screaming it lets the steam out. I have that tube hooked up to a rubber hose that goes inside my vehicles frame. That way there's no coolant spraying out under the tires or on anything under the hood. It's a very minimal amount, mostly steam probably. But I don't want it going all over my engine or under my tires to make me spin out. Things get wild at high rpms sometimes.
