Makings Original UK Rag Rugger makes it quick and easy to create a thick, soft and strong rag rug by pulling short strips of old cloth into the weave of a hessian [or burlap] backcloth. Ideal if you want to make your own rag rug. There is also a method for weaving long strips of rag into the backcloth. This tool works equally well knotting lengths of wool into rug canvas to make a wool rug. Instructions are included for all three methods and we are also always prepared to provide free expert advice. Rag rugger is the name coined by Makings in 1991 but there are many traditional names for this tool including: Bodger, Podger, Pegger, Spring Clip, Progger, Rag Mat Maker, amongst others.
