Like a home printer, it plugs into your PC or Mac with a simple USB cable or utilizing built-in Bluetooth. However, instead of printing it uses a small blade to cut paper, cardstock, vinyl, fabric, and other material up to 12 inches wide and 10 feet long. When the blade is replaced by a pen, the CAMEO will sketch instead of cut. It can be controlled from a computer or save your art to a USB and plug right into the Cameo. Received this yesterday and have already made two shirts. It was nice because it came with vinyl so i was able to get started immediately instead of having to wait for vinyl I have purchased seperately. The HTV is VERY EASY TO WEED. like incredibly easy. My husband has done graphic designing for a living and said it is great vinyl. its super thin which he said was odd but was impressed by it nevertheless.

Has never worked properly since day one
I have never been able to get this cutter to work properly since the first day. It bunches up vinal no matter how I fed it or what setting. It doesn't cut or cuts all the way through every time I try to use it. I have wasted so much material trying to get it to work. I would have returned but the return window was really short. I have owned older models and never had the problems I have had with this one. Would not recommend. Find an older one.

U can only buy from Silhouette..
I like it but I should have researched things a little bit the fact that I can only upload certain things off the internet and I didn't know that I was only buying the basics so they got other other software that you have to purchase so that was my biggest dislike but it's something to live with if you want to get into the t-shirt business

As a beginner, I found it complicated to use.

Tutorials are a lifesaver.
Love my cutter. I like that you can find a tutorial online. Turns out thd basic studio does not connect via Bluetooth and you have to upgrade.
