Young Blood

God, where do I begin……. Marcus King’s voice is amazing and for someone his age, it seems like he’s much older and wiser than his years. The fervent gusto he sings with is that of a soul that has the miles and experiences to back it up with. Every song on this album is GREAT! Felt like it was Summer , I’m in my 20’s cruising with the top down, and I’m on a road trip down 101! Highly recommend and just enjoy the album!

Young Blood = New Blood! The second release as a solo artist does not disappoint. We now have 3 CDs from The Marcus King Band & 2 Solo Artist CDs. All I can say is wow. He absolutely kills it. The fuzz guitar work reminiscent of great Bill F. Gibbons of ZZ Top & influence of the band Free. This cat is a class act. He blows Joe Bonamassa away & I am a big Bonamassa fan. The Raw Power he has & influences that channels through his music is fresh. His guitar 🎸 work is on fire yet he is not over indulgent. His vocals are soulful. He has a attitude of I am what I am. He straight up shows up and throws up this massive sound that speaks volumes without over zealously killing every single note and word being sung that is true art. Not a single bad song on the CD. Do yourself a favor pick this up & the rest of his catalog of releases.

Love Marcus King, but this was not up to his previous outings

This is an enjoyable and listenable album. While the songs, Mr King's guitar and his vocals are solid, I feel the album lacks the emotional punch of some of his earlier work. Still, I think fans and people new to his music will enjoy this album.

Marcus King is amazing!Soft CD case not built to withstand shipping unless properly protected. It arrived bent up and for a new item that is unacceptable to me. I could buy used for less if I wanted wear and tear included. Whoever handles the shipping needs to pack these with stiff padding like cardboard or something so as not to allow bending and possible breakage of the actual CD.

Dude can play… and if you like the tone of his voice…. Dude can sing too. Has a ZZ Top sound to the record. No horns on this album. Great rock record for anyones collection. All killer, no filler.

Fifth album by Marcus King second album produced by Dan Auerbach and Youngblood sounds completely different than the last one. The last album concentrated a little bit more on acoustic driven soul full bluesy melodies , this latest release Crunchy gritty production reigns, and every song has a very interesting storyline heartfelt and thoughtful lyrics, with hook laden melodies andthe most outstanding guitar work you’re ever going to hear, All in four minutes songs. If you love great rock ‘n’ roll and guitar playing that rivals Jeff Beck in Dwayne Allman and you haven’t heard of Marcus King you better get your act together. Youngblood is killer! Top 10 2022 rock release!!

Great album from Marcus again but not his best. You certainly get a good insight into his influences on this album and maybe it's right that he would pay homage to them. The great thing of course with any too artist is they transcend their influences and emerge as an entity entirely if themselves. Marcus King us such an entity. Looking forward to his next album.

Fantastic album. No jazzy undertones on this, just bluesy playing with no fillers. Quality, soulful songs. Easily my album of the year. Speedy seller service.

It’s a rare occurrence that I enjoy every single song on a record. Great musicianship and songwriting make this one a winner. Top score!

Marcus King's latest, "Young Blood" is quite the departure from the recordings of "The Marcus King Band". It would be fair to say that his previous album, "Eldorado" hinted at the direction he was headed in. "Young Blood" (in my opinion) & the direction thereof has been largely influenced by the likes of those King has shared stages with. Overall, I would say that "Young Blood" is a full-blown seventies classic rock record, the kind that is upbeat & brings a real smile to my face. Marcus King is one to watch, a real artist/musician that is growing with every tune, & every album he puts out. Give "Young Blood" a listen, you'll love it!
