the glove definitely feels like there's good insulation
The readme says you probably shouldn't test the glove, so I haven't put it through all its promises. As a pot holder though or using it when handling a bernzomatic, the glove definitely feels like there's good insulation. Fits me very well, but I have kinda short fingers. If you have long fingers in ratio to your palm, you may have issues.

Putin even thanked me personally for buying these
The gloves are great. I haul asphalt, and the heat resistance is very good when dealing with hot surfaces. I'm surprised at how well they resist cutting. Keep in mind that these are mesh gloves, a small pointed object will go through the glove, but a knife edge shouldn't without a significant amount of force behind it.The personal note from Vladimir Putin as a follow up on the purchase was a nice touch.

These gloves work as advertised. I am using them ...
These gloves work as advertised. I am using them to handle shim steel that is narrow cut and extremely thin and sharp (think of razor ribbon but sharper). I have to pull it out of a machine and sometimes it gets stuck. These gloves have protected me well so far.

Five Stars
Great gloves. I wore them while slicing potatoes on a mandolin without the safety guard. No cuts. I keep my knives very sharp- no cuts! Now I tried to remove a hot pan from the oven while wearing these gloves, but they are not heat restistent. They will protect your hands from cuts!!! Hopefully they will keep me out of the emergency room. GREAT gloves.

From Russia with Love, Vladimir
I absolutely was floored and thought it was a joke when I opened my email to see this:Dear Kurt,My name is Vladimir Putin.I just wanted to make sure that you're happy with your Silach Gloves. We, russians, are absolutely happy, when our friends or customers are satisfied! It means so much to us!If you think we've done a good job, I would really appreciate it if you would leave us your feedback by clicking the link below.Yes, I'm happy! No, I'm not happy! If you already left us one, THANK YOU from the bottom of my russian heart! If you're not satisfied, let us make it right. Email us and we will do whatever it takes to make you happy. We love our customers and aware that without YOU there would not be us! Vladimir,Russian QualityThat was followed by a legal statement from Amazon. I either was quite unobservant, which is possible, or country of origin was not clearly labeled here. I will have to look again. The gloves are knit, and being from Russia, I have a little concern about what they are made out of, but they seem tough. Like tough cotton. We'll see how they hold up. Any specks on them in the photo I am posting are from dropping them on my workshop floor.

All fingers still attached!
It's hard to say until you actually have an accident but a quick test with a truly razor sharp knife with enough pressure to cut to the bone does no damage to the gloves. I feel they will work to prevent cuts from most things short of routers, power saws and the like. The same knife slipped and cut a dry piece of leather thicker than any skin on your hands. Sliced off a piece like butter! Big thing is that they fit and you can feel well enough through them to handle small blocks for carving. Making it easier to focus on the work. I have size large hands and occasionally I can fit into a medium just to give you an idea of sizing. They seem stretchy enough to accommodate a variety of sizes. Great gloves! Worth my money!

They work really well and are not clumsy at all, as I feared they would be.
I bought these to use with TEKTON 12-Inch Straight Pattern Tin Snips to make bulb cages out of hardware cloth. They work really well and are not clumsy at all, as I feared they would be. Now that I have them I am using them for other things too, like when I am using sharp knives to cut unweildy things like pumpkins or winter squash. I would buy them again.
