Looks Like it Will Work Beautifully.
I just installed this light, and I purchased the 12" light for a 15" cube planted aquarium. This light is not as bright what I had before, which is not a criticism because the previous light always seemed to me to be a bit too strong. It illuminates the tank beautifully and I this looks like a pretty good amount of light to me. So I'm anticipating a little less issue with algae growth. There were no instructions included in the box, which I thought was odd, but by pressing the button it was pretty easy to figure out which way the switch turned on the day light and which way turned on the moon light. However an instruction book with where to position the switch if you also purchased the timer to go along with this light, would have been a good idea. But thanks to another commenter, he explained how to work the light/timer combination beautifully. It also has a nice low profile to it so the tank still looks nice and contemporary...as you can see in the photo.

Dim and Flickering
The plug in on the light is very touchy and will make the light turn off if you so much as walk past it. After a year of use, it is to the point of flickering at random intervals, which startles the fish and stresses them out. Stress can very easily lead to disease in sensitive fish. The flickering even caused my betta to jump out of the tank, and the poor guy didn't make it.Not bright enough for anything over 8-9 gallons, was pretty dim on my 10 gallon. Worked okay, but was too bulky for, my 5 gallon. A waste of time and money, mostly.

Works with MingDak timers.
Nice light for my 5.5 gal. aquarium. Not the brightest but at the price point I'm pleased with it. It does not blend the colors very well. You will see stronger reds, blues and greens. I haven't yet, but I plan on trying a diffuser that should help with the blending. Looks like it would be rather easy to mod the light with a different diffuser. Good product for the price.

Definitely get this!
This was such a great find! I have a huge 36x18x36 exoterra and I needed a light that could get to the bottom of the tank and not only does this light deliver it has so many other options! It has a storm option that looks like lightning, it is fully customizable if you know what you're looking for or preprogrammed lighting cycle that goes from dawn to night all on it's own. I cannot tell you how happy I am with this product. Amazing!

Eh ok
It’s a little too white flooded. And the red light cause algae blooming. Had to tape off 80% of the red lights to avoid green algae problems.
