Q: What is the range of moisture content for birch stock before turning? For 3.5" pegs what are the tenon dimensions Length, diameter taper when turned?

I’ve no idea what the MC levels were, but in any case, not relevant, as pegs were bone dry with no shrinkage. They are slightly tapered to enter a 1/2” hole easily, widening as they are driven in so seat securely. Taper is gentle and the birch is itself fairly compressible, so no problem seating them fully in even very hard or brittle woods. My favorite thing about these pegs is they are very close to the original 1800s Skaker pegs (I have one in my living room) and not the overly rounded, ill proportioned knockoffs usually found, mass milled in C - - - a.

Q: Will these fit standard pegboard holes?

Don't think so. Pegboard is normally hardboard so the tenons on the pegs would be too wide and too long.
