Kenyan coffees are among the most admired among coffee experts. These coffees are complex and often possess deep berry notes. Kenya only began cultivating coffee in the early 1900s. Much of the great coffee of Kenya comes from high altitude growing regions just north of Nairobi. “AA” is the highest grade in Kenya based on bean size. Recommended brew style is pour over or drip. This one is my preferred coffee bean, since Kona and Jamaican Blue Mountain are off the chart in price per pound.

It was awesome to be able to choose my roasting level. We always drink Kenya coffee. We wanted to try a blonde roast and Smokin Beans did just what I asked. Wonderful coffee, wonderful company!

Supposedly "medium" roast does not smell right and is too bitter.

Fresh roasted beans, full city roast, more roasting options available directly through their website. Product and description are consistent with experience. Flavor for this bag was consistent, full bodied, no burned, acidic, or bitter flavor at all throughout the bag. A good cup of coffee using the pour over method.

I know good coffee varies but I think the pricing levels fluctuate too much here. I go to the roaster website and it cost more than amazon and they just drop ship. I'd rather just go to the roaster and let them get all the profit, so here's a note to them.Coffee.wise it is the nice sweet finish I expect from a proper Kenya aa and the mild acidity which my stomach appreciates since I like to use recommended dilution rates. I used to do custom roast but now I feel the way it comes is good enough and I don't have to navigate the notes every time.

I tried different local coffee shops and online options to buy beans a year ago. This one is the best both for taste and for the money value as well. I do pour-over and use a cheap home espresso machine ($150 ish) for lattes and americanos. I grind the beans before making a cup of coffee to have the freshest coffee taste and flavor.I always have medium roast at 382-da best.
