Lovely Golden tea.
A lovely light golden colour tea. A subtle aromatic delicate taste. The large leaves are so big that you hardly need an infuser. The 250g bag is quite big, and if you only use a few teaspoons per pot then this works out great value for the quality of flavour.

Fairly good tea but not worth the price
The rich, smooth, malty, earthy tones typical of black/red Yunnan tea are not the dominant flavours here, are not represented sufficiently to justify the price. It is a more bitter and dry tea than is expected from a typical "red" Yunnan tea (as opposed to black, dark, pu-erh tea). The rich red colour and the smooth, earthy, malty taste and smell resembling hay, at times almost floral and manure-like is not quite there either. More on the bitter-chocolatey side. A reasonably fair attempt of representing what a good Yunnan black (red) tea should be, this unfortunately falls short of the ideal and certainly does not justify the price. The classification of leaves may be of top quality but this is certainly not top quality tea. Just like with wine, you know when you're drinking a good wine because you're enjoying it. You might be drinking "top quality" wine, if it doesn't taste good, it's not worth the purchase. Similar case with this tea. Okay but not great.

Good solid taste
First impressions - smells sweet, tastes clear and with a sweet hint.

lacking flavour
yunnan golds, dian hong black teas are my favourite goto teas & have tasted many brands in the past, but this tea is just lacking in complexity as the flvaour is just one dimensional and no depth or proper maltyness that these teas usually have. There's a hint of it there, but thats about it. For the price I wouldnt reccomend as you can find much better quality yunnan blacks.

Odour...
Fu!)))) I was so excited to get it and read lots of good reviews... When I got it I was so disappointed. All because of the smell of this tea. The smell is like on the farm where are cows. I made 1 cup a tea and thinking to throw it out. Because I'm not going to drink it. The smell is important to me. I wouldn't buy it again

Fine everyday yunnan
This is a fine yunnan for everyday drinking. It can be brewed for longer than five minutes without any astringency or bitterness, which is good. The flavour is a little too weak for my taste, with the chocolate notes I had been expecting being certainly there but difficult to pick out. That said, maybe I am just used to more overt flavours like ceylon or darjeeling. It has a good classic black tea taste - it is by no means tasteless - I am just slightly disappointed as I had wished for stronger malty or chocolate notes.Overall it is good as an everyday tea - and I do mean good - but I was looking for something slightly more which is why I have given it four stars.
