I got the switchbot smart lock direct from switchbot before it was available on amazon UK, as with all switchbot smart devices the lock is fitted using double sided 3M pads, there are a ton of instalation guides available on YouTube and installation is pretty easy its a case of placing the lock over your current thumb turn selecting the right size thumb turn, use the bracket on the lock to make sure the lock sits square over the thumb turn, once you're happy with the fit and you've adjusted the lock bracket (if needed) simply peel the cover off the tape and press the lock firmly onto your door lock, then you use the switchbot app to install the lock, you have to go through some installation procedures to install the lock but you just follow what you are told on screen by the app.Once installed you can set scenes say if you want a light to come on when you unlock the door, if you have the switch bot 5D sensor you can use the 5D sensor to lock the door when you leave.I like this lock because you can still use your keys to open the door if something goes wrong like say the battery on the device fails i had this with a previous smart lock when the battery failed i had no way to open the door because the other smart lock didn't let you use your key to operate the lock i was lucky i could gain access to my home through my veranda door, otherwise i imagine it would have been an expensive locksmith job, i marked it one star down because 2 days after purchasing the lock the switchbot site was offering a 20% discount which probably would have meant I'd have gone for the lock and key pad combination when I was purchasing it, and the extra parts that came with the while very helpful for the installation took a bit of working out as the instructions are a bit vague, like the added bracket which I couldn't figure out what the 4 holes are for in it l, from speaking to switchbotscustomer service it seems you can screw the smart lock to the adapter, but...what size screws??? I haven't tried it but again talking to switchbots customer services you need M3 screws, other than that the lock has worked perfectly so far and has the usual integrations with the usual Alex, Google Home and IFTTT and more.It's definitely worth adding this to your smart home, it's relatively easy to install and works well, time will tell what the battery life is like and how it works on a day to day basis.Update: you can not just shout at Alexa to unlock the door because you need to give Alexa a pin code to unlock the lock.I hope this review is helpful.

I purchased two of these and both loose calibration and forget how much to turn to open the door and you will get locked out without a spare key! Absolute junk of a product filled with software bugs.

Bought as a gift and they have not stopped expressing how much they enjoy using this

So this worked very well until is started failing in 2 phases. 1. It keeps failing to unlock the door and I had to use emergency unlock all the time. No matter how many times I recalibrate it. 2. The 3m sticker wore off and now doesn’t even align to the knob.No response from support even after a week of raising a ticket to them.

Find this a brilliant lock to use very easy to set up.Big fan of switch bot

Very handy and well built

Product was easy to set up and link to other smart devices. It wasn’t overly expensive for what it is. Gives you peace of mind when you’re in bed and can’t remember if you locked the door!
