like BEAUTIFUL before it
Stacy McAnulty and Joanne Lew- Vriethoff did it again!BRAVE, like BEAUTIFUL before it, showcases kids from all walks of life being brave. What I appreciated most was how the combination of images of everyday forms of bravery paired with statements that have traditionally used to describe force show how compassion, empathy, and bravery are accessible to every child in any situation. Between the two, they show the type of bravery I want modeled for my kids (and myself).Be kind. Be brave.Bravo for BRAVE!

Redefining bravery!
Ahhh, I LOVE these books. BRAVE is the follow up to McAnulty and Lew-Vriethoff's BEAUTIFUL, out last year. In the same way BEAUTIFUL redefined beauty, BRAVE redefines what it means to be brave. There are so many things that make a kid brave - they don't need to leap tall buildings and jump out of planes - telling the truth, playing an instrument on stage, cleaning up the environment, there are so many things that make today's kids brave!

KIDS NEED BRAVE
Brave Kids come in all shapes and sizes and personalities and are charmingly depicted in this positive story that will make a child stand tall when he and she recognize their own brave actions. And, BRAVE will be read again and again.
