Maybe not for everyone
I ordered these hammers two times. The first time they came in busted in pieces. That is not the fault of the craft-manufacturer, but of the package, or even the packers. The second time was the charm. The hammers are well balanced but quite light. They have a sort of flexibility. It will take some getting used to so I'm not sure if I'll love them and go for 5 stars or go the other way. Of all of the hammers that I have ever had (and that is only 3 sets) this is the lightest, the shortest, and the padded side is padded with felt rather than leather. Yet the jury is still out. They sound nice.

You can do better
I bought a Songbird hammered dulcimer recently which came with a set of hammers that are good but I'm curious to try out different hammers. I bought these and immediately realized they're not that good. While the grip is nicer than the Songbird ones, the bounce doesn't feel right. Rolls are much harder to do with these and... I mean, it just doesn't feel right! A good pair of hammers might cost 10 or 20 more dollars but I think it would be worth it to skip these.

Finally I got a soft beautiful sound from my Dulci!
The hammers are not only beautiful but very lightweight and the sound is remarkable. For 2 yrs I have used the plain hammers that came with my hammered dulcimer and it was ok. But when I saw these and the price, I said why not! I’m so glad I bought them and now my music is far superior! I’m currently learning chords.

Well-made, nice balance, reasonably priced
beautifully made, a bit light-weight, but happy to have them—nicely balanced

They are okay.
They are just okay for me. The padded part is so flat black that it doesn't really compliment the dark brown finish on the rest of the hammer. Also, they are very light weight. The sound they make is not nearly as good as the sounds my other sets make. They do seem to be made nicely and that is why I give them 3 stars. I think they might serve a beginner well.

Buy them
Beautifully made- elegant looking. I am a beginner at dulcimer but seems to get great results.

High quality, great balance
Having used the same set of hammers for years, my old ones finally fell apart. These are very well made.

Nice Dulcimer Hammers-but fragile
They are beautiful...but fragile. One of them broke when I was using them. I glued it back together so use with caution.
