We were looking for a refrigerator that would complete the look of our recently renovated kitchen. We wanted a high-end, sexy, professional kitchen look, and we wanted a refrigerator that would reflect that. Well, we found it in an unusual place. All of the residential refrigerators are insane as far as pricing, lack attractiveness and the overall cubic volume of cooling space. We noticed right off the bat that almost everything offered, residentially was expensive, unattractive, and did not offer much overall cubic volume of cooling space. So, I started doing my homework and ask myself, “Why can’t I use a commercial refrigerator?” The new ones are 110, very efficient, frost free and look amazing. I decided to go for a large two-door refrigerator as opposed to a Refrigerator/freezer combo. We use the refrigerator way more than we use the freezer. With that being said, I have a freezer 20 feet away in my garage. In the end I settled on the Aceland AR-48B NON-ETL 48'' W Commercial Refrigerator. They do you offer a refrigerator freezer combo? But as I said we just wanted a larger refrigerator. When the freezer arrived, I was absolutely thrilled. It looks amazing, however there is a bit of an adjustment period. You have to decide the layout of the inside of your refrigerator. It doesn’t come with the normal bins that a regular refrigerator does. You customize it the way you want. Amazon offers a full array of anything you could imagine to customize your refrigerator and trust me. We bought it all. This particular model has the fan and cooling system on top of the refrigerator. I love this because it’s not under the refrigerator where all the dirt, dust, spiders, and webbing seem to collect. Still, with that being said, it is a bit noisier that the traditional residential fridge. At first, I was getting a lot of vibration and noise from the fan in upper part of the cooling system. What I did was unscrewed the screws that held the radiator down and put 1/4 inch rubber wetsuit material underneath the radiator and then screwed radiator back down On top of the wetsuit material. I also put wetsuit material on top of the radiator case and held in place by double sided, sticky tape. Just know that where I put the wet material was on the structural metal that created the housing for the radiator and in no way impeded its ability to cool things down.This cut down on the vibration noise immensely. The second thing I noticed is that the fan had a lot of vibration to it that created a lot of noise and I used my fingers to find the source of the vibration and apply just gentle pressure from front to rear and side to side of the fan while it was on. When doing this I noticed 95% of all the noise stopped. So I took a small rubber clamp and placed it around the body of the fan motor so that the clamp ends tightly squeezed the motor from both sides. By applying even pressure on both sides of the fan motor, I’ve not had any challenges since with noise whatsoever. It just purrs. Like I said, overall, it is a tad bit noisier than a civilian refrigerator, but it is so worth it. Also, the customer service is pretty awesome. Unlike my Forno Kitchen gear. My communication with the company was entirely about noise, but to be fair this is a commercial refrigerator that was not technically meant for use, in a quiet normal house and after about 15 minutes of investigative work and 5 minutes of actual work, I’ve not had any challenges at all. Noise or other. The temperature goes from 32° to 41°. It keeps everything nice and cold, but does not allow ice or frost to form. Once the temperature reaches 40° it kicks on brings it back down to 32 and the process starts over again. I think this is what they call a self defrost refrigerator. The more things you have in your refrigerator that can be made cold is beneficial and actually used as part of the system to maintain the cold temperature in the refrigerator. So when your refrigerators is fully stocked about every 15 minutes or so, the motor will kick on and bring the temperature back down from 40 to 32°. And I have to say it is very energy efficient for what it is. We monitor our electric bill every month and I’ve had this refrigerator for over three months and there has been absolutely no change to my electric bill. So if you want a sleek, sexy, shiny and efficient refrigerator, for your kitchen, then kick the mundane, normal, expensive, boring, residential refrigerators to the curb and get the Aceland AR-48B NON-ETL 48'' W Commercial Refrigerator.
