3D printing enthusiasts will LOVE this tape! Cover your printer bed deck for easy removal of prints and replace tape easily as it wears. 3D printers do not come with good surfaces for easy print removal. This Blue Painters Tape is Professional Grade multi-use Contractors tape featuring a specially formulated, high tack adhesive. Works for textured, semi-rough, or smooth surfaces and has the tackiness it needs to adhere to your surfaces yet allows for clean removal up to 21 days. High performance masking tape is for general industrial, construction, and do-it-yourself use. The acrylic adhesive system will not dry out or lose holding power. Works well on drywall, glass, hardwood floors, wood trim, and a variety of surfaces. Most typical use is LATEX paint jobs and window protection mask off. (REMOVE SLOWLY and carefully from freshly painted surfaces!) Very Important: Surfaces must be well cleaned, dust free, greaseless, and very dry before application. While the backing of the tape is moisture resistant the adhesive is definitely not. ALL adhesive is pressure & heat sensitive. Make sure you press it firmly after application. Apply at room temperature or above if possible. The dryer and warmer the installation area, the more you run your fingers over it, the better the adhesion (less bleed). REMOVE ASAP! (always pull gently at slight angle AWAY from painted edge) Painters tape is known as semi-permanent removable, it gets stronger every day. The longer you leave it on the more difficulty removing it. Rolled or brushed paint jobs require much sooner removal than sprayed. Blue Painters Tape is not for everything! May not play well with all types of oil based paints, lacquers, etc. You must be willing to experiment, there are 100's of kinds of tape for a reason. Other uses: 3D print bed masking or printer deck covering, Glue or Caulk lines, Over spray protection, Chrome protection when cutting or grinding.

Buy this tape for your MakerBot!
I purchased this 12" 3D tape for my prints on a MakerBot Replicator 5th Gen. I tried this on a very large print that took up most of the print area. With other tape, (including actual 3M brand blue tape) there are times when the print "curls" and allows the print to detach from the tape. I printed 12 prints with this tape and most of the time I could get 2 prints from each application. Note: No tape will hold your print if you don't wrap the tape over all of the edges. It will lift from the glass without overlapping the edges. So.... The test I ran was whether or not the tape would release the print if the tape held to the glass. Always use Isopropyl Alcohol (I use 91%) to clean the glass and to rub the "wax" off of the blue tape after application. After proper application of the tape I found that the first tape to release the print was the 3M branded tape. The next best tape was made by Blue Hawk. The tape that NEVER let go of a print was this tape. Buy it, Clean it and use it for all of your prints. One other thing; this tape had the added benefit of sticking to the model very well but releasing the model with the proper force. This allows the model to be released and not to tear the tape.

Best laser masking tape I have found
This was my second try to find a masking tape that would work on the wood I put into the laser engraver. And - WOW! - it works wonderfully! The first tape I bought didn't stick to anything. Not even the cat, when he got nosy about what I was doing. I was on an hunt to find something that worked. I'd complain about the price of this stuff, but it works so well on the laser wood that I don't know if I even care about it. It is worth the money to me. Highly recommend!

Do not recommend for 3D printing usng PLA
The idea of not having to lay out multiple strips of painters tape (because this is 12" wide) appealed to me, but having played with it for a week, I am giving up. THe product arrive in a timely manner; the shipper/seller did a fine job. Here's why I simply did not like the tape...First, I print using PLA only, I have a heated bed that I take to 45 degrees C, and my print surface is 12" x 12". I have no idea how other plastics would adhere. Also, I am not new to 3D printing; I operate 4 printers on a daily basis: a Pegasus-8, a Creality-10, and 2 TEVO Tornadoes. I purchased the tape for the last 3 printers mentioned.I have had tremendous success with 3M-brand tape; I find that it provides exactly the right amount of stickiness. My pieces adhere to the bed and unless they have a huge surface area contacting the bed, I do not have to worry about gluing the pieces down, etc.I do not like this product because:1. The tape has a smoother, shinier, almost waxy surface compared to other tapes I use and my PLA prints do not even begin to stick to it. My bed is leveled to perfection, but the plastic just slides off like I am printing on Teflon. When I sprayed hairspray on the tape, my pieces adhered great, but then, why bother using tape in the first place?2. The tape is 12" wide and it is much thinner and stretchier than higher-quality tapes. So when I pull it off the roll (even with the help of my wife) it stretches and is very difficult to get smoothly onto the bed without puckers and bulges and creases. Much more difficult to work with then 3" strips placed in parallel. In in opinion, applying multiple strips of 3" tape is much much easier (I can do it by myself).I am going to attempt to return the roll to the seller. I'll add a comment as to my success in that area.UPDATE:The seller refunded the purchase price without question. Kudos.

Not for 3D printing
The good: Big, wide roll that covered my entire 300mm bed (CR-10S) with one swath. Nice, flexible tape that made it much easier to apply without wrinkles than I had feared (it went on very easy). Seems high quality. The bad: Apparently the surface finish is too smooth for proper 3D printing adherence with PLA. Even with bed temps of 60C (and I tried higher temps, as well), the filament simply wouldn't stick. The tape that the CR-10S came with adhered just fine without use of any glue or spray, but this wouldn't. That's all I bought it for, and it didn't work. I returned it, and the seller gave me a full refund, which I am grateful for. But, I wouldn't advise buying this for 3D printing, unless you are planning on using glue or spray. What I ended up doing: Buying a $20 sheet of PEI for my printer that my PLA adheres to perfectly, without a flaw, using no additional glue or spray. It's a cheaper and better solution.

You won’t have to look anymore, this tape is it! Period!!
It delivers precisely what it promises, easy to apply and remove. This tape makes quick, mess-free preparation for my laser work. Highly recommended, and reliable. At 12 inches wide ( the exact height of my laser workable space , it provides a no hassle approach at what can be a challenging step with the, lesser quality products available . Great product, ! 5 stars indeed!Hope this helps.Oldskool Red

Eliminates seams on build plate surfaces for 3D printing.
If you use tape to 3D print this is the best method. No hassle with trying to line up tape sections. Seamless build plate surfaces. Initial investment is high, but consider the cost of separate rolls to make up a twelve inch section.

Pulls in stips, won't pull the entire width.
Pulls in stips, won't pull the entire width. But adheres very well and is perfect when lasering letters that you are going to paint.
