Mochi Rice by OliveNation is a traditional Japanese white rice also known as "glutinous rice." The rice is gluten free—glutinous simply refers to its starch content. This high-starch, sticky, sweet rice is used to make confections, rice cakes, crackers, rice molds, mochi ice cream, and sushi. Mochi Rice also makes fantastic rice pudding. Basic Cooking Instructions: Rinse 1 cup of Mochi Rice in cold water, until it runs clear. You may need to change the water several times. Drain in a colander. Place drained rice in a medium saucepan and add 1.5 cups of water. Cook over high heat until it comes to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Turn off heat, but don't remove the lid. Let rest for at least 15 minutes.
