A great synopses
This is Basically for those who want a career in law enforcement , forensics , etc. . It would also be good for those who want to take classes in any of these areas . What I like best was the article on school shootings which describe what to look for etc. but also tell schools why why and what they need to look for end also when they really shouldn't panic . It's a good article and I would use it if I was wondering about a child I was taking care of or if I wanted to take it to the school and go over it with them to talk about a problem . Nice little pamphlet .

Inside the Criminal Mind, David Webb
Not only am I a CSI, Bones, Criminal Minds, Castle, etc. junkie, but I am also a student of anthropology and most recently, forensic.anthropology. I realize the television shows I just mentioned are not so realistic in many ways, but as far as a glimpse into the dark and horrible side of the behavioral abnormalities of life, I think they portray well what David Webb tells of in his book. I enjoyed the book very much from an educational and possibly curious point of view. It tells a true story of what lurks out there in dark corners of society.

A compilation
An interesting short history of elements of the FBI approach. This book is not more than an introduction to elements of criminal behaviour. One of the articles touches on the concept of psychopathy, linking it meaningfully to serial murder. What was not present is any overview of the Psychology of Criminal Conduct (Andrews and Bonta), discussion of personality aspects involved in crime, typologies was covered briefly, and so forth. However, recommended as an introductory read, and to be commended for collecting original source material. In summary, well based in solid research and theory, honest in describing it as insights, but you will need to look further for depth.

A Fascinating Read
Inside The Criminal Mind: Behavioral Science Insights From The FBI is as fascinating as it is compelling. If you watch criminal minds, the following or any other fictional show featuring serial killers and criminal profiling you will love this book. It's true what they say, real life is even more frightening than fiction!
