A mixed bag of episodes
Let me start by saying I am a huge fan of the Nerd and have been watching since the beginning. I bought all the original AVGN dvd's & Nerd plush back when the Cinemassacre store was still around. So I was more than happy to upgrade to Blu-ray once the AVGN X volumes were released. While I enjoyed the first two X volumes I found this third volume to be a bit lacking overall. While I do enjoy some of the episodes there are quite a few episodes that just feel kind of "off" by James Rolfe's standards, almost like he was tired or too busy with other projects to come up with interesting stuff to say. I also feel that reviewing un-released titles such as Desert Bus and Crazybus seems a bit desperate since there are tons of other systems and games that James has never covered that potentially would be more interesting. There's also the Big Rigs episode which to me was just painful to watch, there's nothing more awkward than watching James fake laugh on camera.I get the feeling a lot of time was spent focusing on the Board James episodes and in turn some of the AVGN episodes suffered a little because of that. I feel at this point the Nerd is becoming a bit stale and I honestly enjoyed the Board James Blu-ray a lot more than this volume. I like how James is trying to make the episodes a bit more meaningful writing wise but I miss the days of outlandish fun that they used to provide, now they just seem to be trying to hard. Now it may seem like i'm just tearing apart the Blu-ray but there are a few good episodes on here like Beetlejuice, Darkwing Duck, Seaman and the 12 days of *****mas. There's also some great extras on the special features disc. Picture quality wise they all look fantastic since they were all filmed in high-def.Overall it's not bad but I feel episode wise this is the weakest AVGN X volume so far. I can easily re-visit the first AVGN X volume whenever I need a laugh but I can't see myself watching this one again anytime soon.

Great collection - easy workaround for minor menu problem
This compilation has some great episodes of AVGN and lots of extras. There's a minor problem with one of the menus on the bonus disk. The button that's supposed to load the Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde Trailer Making-Of featurette instead loads the trailer outtakes, and the making-of featurette can't be accessed by selecting a chapter directly. There's any easy workaround though; the making-of featurette is still on the disk, and you can see it by navigation to about 9:45 in the "play all bonus features" track.

Not as epic as X1
Much better than X2 thanks to filling out the disc with more episodes, but really X2 and X3 could have easily been combined into one release. This has some of the best material from James and is just a better release over X2.

Go, Go, Angry Game Nerd!
Just when I thought I was on the verge of a Nerd shortage, I found this compilation and purchased it for my husband last Christmas. (Although, I also really wanted it for myself!) If you're in the mood for funny, foul-mouthed, and interesting commentary, then AVGN X3 is for you.
