The HME301 Hall Effect Sensor was designed to take the place of several sensors that are no longer produced. Because these sensors eventually wear out, it's important to have them available to keep older cars and motorcycles running properly. These sensors are also commonly used in industrial machinery, electronic injection, automation, and many other industrial applications -- RPM sensors, limit switches, position sensors, speed measurements, shaft encoders, etc. Modern design and manufacturing methods have produced replacement sensors that are better than the originally-specified components, featuring better accuracy, endurance, narrow temperature drifting, a smooth and clean output curve, and non-instantaneous dithering. HME301 is a non-contact sensor/switch, which consists of a monolithic integrated Hall Effect circuit and a special magnetic circuit hermetically sealed in a plastic housing. The housing is waterproof, resistant to vibration, gasoline, oil and salt. Two tubular rivets are incorporated in the package to mount the sensor on the carrier plate. The sensor has three leads for power supply, output and ground.

2 x Dead On Arrival - do not swage to plate or thread until you verify they actually switch
Purchased two of these to rebuild an HES plate on a BMW motorcycle. Both arrived DOA. Swapped in a known good plate. I still have no hall effect signal with these replacement sensors. The HME301 provided here has a signal wire that stays high whether vane airgap is interuppted or uninterrupted. The known good HES plate I have switches high when interrupted only and goes low unblocked. I ended up purchasing a new iginition computer because I did not verify that these were good. Still no HES signal to ICU, and both of my ignition computers are good.I have contacted the seller and am awaiting resolution.

This little part will keep your car from running.
It was exactly as advertised, and it worked. Don't buy a new ignition distributor if all you need is a new Hall Sender.

Excellent alternative to the original hard to find sensors
Installed two of these on my 1995 BMW r1100 motorcycle. Excellent alternative to the original hard to find sensors. Bike runs perfectly
