Balance the long hands for longer life.
I used this movement in a clock, I built, that was similar to the Herman Miller Time Surveyor 615 080 clock here on Amazon.. That sells for $1649 , Gulp. I wanted a nice clock for my shop rather then the junk thing hanging on the wall. I also bought a surveyors transit for the stand here on Amazon. CST as I remember and I paid $60. Way south of $100 and it looks terrific with the case and trim I built. I bought this one because of the very long hands and a claim of high torque , uh, was not mentioned on the blister package and probably means nothing. The hands are tinfoil light and were not backed with card board. Received bent and beat up. I'm a bit harsh here and apologize because what do you want for $13 or so? What looks the same is bit cheaper by several other buyers. The hands are not balanced which puts a huge strain on the motor. I added 2.5-3 grams of lead to each hand and the battery and movement should last longer. Amazon does not sell a heavy duty pendulum but I found one from Rondel for $16 derived and use a D cell . I have been buying one made in Germany for years and costs $75 so I'm a very happy camper that China now makes one. How long will these parts last? Both are new to me and are junk compared the ones I used to buy. Japan and Taiwan took years to figure it out and China also will eventually get it right.

Nice movement for the money
It works as described. I was a bit concerned about the shipping packaging as it was a padded envelope that suffered at the hands (or machines) of the USPS. However, the internal plastic pack was damaged but the clock hands and shaft movement survived without damage. I purchased this to replace a defective movement in a large wall clock and everything fit well and worked. Having said that, care must be taken when attaching the HOUR and MINUTE hands. They have a very tight fit. Otherwise, it is worth the money and works as expected.

Accurate but flimsy
Well this item tells time accurately but it’s parts are extremely thin and delicate. Be very gentle when installing as the metal hands are very easy to bend . With patience it will do the job. Not a good product for impatient people. It’s hard to put together without bending the parts . Has kept time well for two years tho.

Worth the money for a large clock.
Nice big hands and accurate movement. This is worth the money I paid for it. I found an old retro clock that was non functioning and used this movement to give it life. The clock is huge, maybe 3 feet across. This kit fit perfectly. One criticism is the packaging they shipped this in. It was a padded bag. The hands had to be reshaped which I couldn't get perfect but not noticeable unless your looking for it. The packaging containing the movement was pretty smashed.

Acceptable for the price, I guess
First thing I noticed was that the packing was a simple bubble envelope so I was a little afraid to open it and see. The package as mangled and the arms were bent. But the advantage of cheap flimsy metal is that I was able to bend them back into a usable shape. Should have been shipped in a box. I assembled the clock a few hours ago and seems to be working so far.

Replaced with bigger hands than provided and it still worked fine.
Worked fine. I have a large clock with a 2 ft diameter face. The minute hand is about 16 inches, so I was worried that it would need a higher torque than this would provide. However, I was able to replace the hands with my existing hands even though the provided hands were smaller and it still worked fine. Its keeping fairly accurate time for the past month. Other than that, the provided hands are nice...sharp and look good too.
