Thomas Crown Affair (1968)

windmills in your mind.
the thomas crown affair stands as one of those cinematic moments where the re-make truly builds on the cultural foundation of the original film so much so that the newer film -- starring rene russo and pierce brosnan -- crystalizes the original intent far better than the film on which its based. while the great steve mcqueen and faye dunaway could have done no better, the raw sexuality of the second film matched with the even more over-the-top antics of the affluent make the second film soar. the first features a bank robbery, the second an art heist -- you almost have to have money to even understand the crime in the second film. the first film introduces faye in a scandalous mini-dress, the second throws rene onto the scene in tailored perfection, legs for days, and a fur.while the plots do diverge in many ways, it's interesting to see what society would allow of a woman in the late sixties and how much further that got pushed forward by the late nineties. if only the studios saw the wisdom in creating these "two packs" so audiences could decide for themselves. a treat for fans of the old and the new.

Better than the Original!!
Loved this movie. I watched the older one with Steve McQueen first and then followed-up with the remake starring Pierce Brosnan. I'm a huge McQueen fan. But, I actually think that the Brosnan remake is better. Almost no one plays the sophisticated and charming characters better than Brosnan. Don't want to give away the storyline. However, I think the remake ended better. Highly recommend both movies. Very entertaining! And, it keeps you guessing.

Disappointment
I bought this mainly to see Faye Dunaway's wardrobe and hair styles. Plus Steve McQueen. Two glamorous people. I want to add, however, that I couldn't play it on my DVD player. It requires some kind of player that I'm not familiar with. And my player is only about 4 years old. I would have returned it if I could have, but I never figured out how to do it.

Quality and delivery of product was excellent.
This was a movie on DVD. I have not watched it yet. I do appreciate the constant flow of information as to the status of my purchase. The quality and delivery could hardly be improved upon.

I’ve loved this movie for 55 years since I first saw it in 1968!
The first video DVD of the Thomas Crown Affair didn’t completely fill my wide screen Sony Bravia TV! The second Blue Ray DVD played in six different languages, none of them in English! When I pushed Audio Select on my DVD. Controller it would play in every language chosen EXCEPT English.when you clicked on English there was no sound whatsoever! I ordered anon-Blue Ray copy!

One of my all time favourites
This is a great film and such a good price to get the Blu-ray edition here on Amazon, if you've never watched it then this will bring back this early 70's film era, great twist at the end. Steve McQueen oozes coolness so much so I even spent £200 on the sunglasses he wears in this film, I look just like him when wearing them lol.tj

Use of segmented screen in beginning
Love this film. Classic late 60s film. Faye Dunaway is gorgeous as is a very handsome Steve McQueen. Great plot with twist. Highly recommend this film.
