This continuous ink supply system can be installed into HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 or HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 printers. It will supply ink to the printer continuously, until you refill it. The system comes with high quality UV resistant ink. External ink reservoirs allow for longer period between refills. Package include one complete set of CISS system, 4 syringes, 4 air vents, 1 instruction CD, 4 clips, 2 pairs of stands.

Good luck with those chips ... Didn't work for us!
Well, we tried installing this continuous ink system onto our HP8000 inkjet printer. The process begins with removing the 4 chips from the HP ink cartridges, using an exacto knife. That's not difficult, but requires quite a bit of care (and force) - like removing a kid's sticker glued to a refrigerator door. Now for the failure: the 4 supplied ink cartridges require those chips to be installed. The chips must be accurately aligned or else the fingers of the printer will not make contact. This alignment requires small plastic "Transfer Holders" to which the chip must be glued. OUR SET ARRIVED WITHOUT THESE TRANSFER HOLDERS! So we are dead in the water. The chips cannot be properly mounted into the CISS cartridges without these 4 little pieces of plastic.A waste of time. Back it goes to Amazon and LanMHT/Wenjing Dai. And, since my 4 HP cartridges no longer have chips, I must buy 4 new (expensive) HP cartridges. Also, there is a small installation CD included. It describes several installation procedures for *other* CISS systems, but not for this one. Like getting an instruction manual for last year's model.

A good way to save on printer Ink for the HP 8000/8500 with HP 940 cartridges
The concept of providing continuous ink to a printer for a reasonable price was sufficiently compelling to induce my purchase. The only concern was the installation process which demanded the removal of the computer chips from each of the HP 940 ink cartridge followed by installation of the removed chips on the cartridges of the Continuous Ink System (CIS). The directions provided were reasonably clear but I found the youtube video at [...] particularly helpful in allaying any concerns. Following the video process and securing the chips with two-sided tape on the CIS proved fairly easy. The system is up and running and now I'll see how the ink holds up.

A not so easy to install ink replacement alternative.
The "system" is advertised as a simple to install ink replacement alternative.Caveat Emptor!!!!!The prodedure of removal of the empty cartridge's chips is not considered in the advertisement. This is a VERY delicate operation and should be performed by qualified personnel only. One could easely damage the chip and that will be all!!!I think that a illustrative video should be included. Mine did not have the video nor the "BONUSES" as advertised.A naïve question: How in the heck I will get the extra ink needed to replenish the reservoirs? This product IS NOT to be handled by inexperienced hands!!!Virgilio Malagon.

Haven't been able to use.
Seems like a great Idea but HP has computer chips which must be removed from the dead cartridges and stuck to these cartridges for the printer to recognize there are carts. in the machine. There is no way to reset the chips so the printer always registers no ink or cartridge missing. Good in theory. HP needs to make these but they won't because they are getting about $5000 / Gallon the way they sell their ink now. If they came with a clone chip they'd be great but as they are they are more trouble than they are worth.

Worked Perfectly
I bought this with HP Officejet Pro 8000 and it worked perfectly the first time. I was very careful in removing the chip from the original cartridges and glued them to the little trays then inserting them in to the continuous flow cartridge. This is my first time trying something like this and it was a little intimidating but the instructions were clear and I didn't have any issues. I am glad to be free of the refill rip-off. Also the Officejet is working great, no paper jams and fast.

Great supply of ink, never run out at a critical time
This product is very easy to install, just make sure you read the instructions and then follow them carefully. I love the great ink supply and the ease you can refill the tanks. You can buy ink at a much cheaper price than you can the cartridges. I highly recommend this product if you do a lot of printing.

Wrecked my printer
There is nothing wrong with the cartridges, but my printer heads fried after about a week of using this. The guy at the ink store said it was the ink itself.I have used his products for years.I decided to try this, as he did not sell them.I recommend the device, just buy the right ink.Apparently the solvents for the pigment matter to the printer.

Pigment or dye ink?
Don't know if the ink is pigment or dye, it only says high quality ink. About 1 month after using this product, both my print heads went bad. I suppose it could have been coincidental but it does seem logical that the ink messed up my print heads. I read that only pigment ink should be used in the HP 8500 printer. So, if this ink is a dye type, then it would seem less of a coincidence. Does anyone know what type of ink comes with this kit?Transferring the chip on the ink cartridges was a hassle as well. I would not buy this product again. Print heads are not cheap.
