I needed a replacement for the original Fluval pump in my Fluval Spec Sea 60 litre aquarium. The Fluval was noisy and had started giving little electric shocks when touching the tank water. The Sicce is a tight fit but will wiggle into the return chamber of the Spec. It is more powerful so gives increased flow, which is a good thing in a marine tank but can be adjusted to a lower rate if needed. The manufacturer claims the pump is silent, but which it is quieter than the Fluval it definitely is t silent - in fact no AC pump can ever be truly silent.

these pumps are great it is very powerful even though its only a 700 lh and i have turned it down to the lowest setting

Wanted to replace Fluval evo's factory pump to something silent, this pump is not silent at all, has similar noise and vibrations to Fluvals return pump. I did try to hang it, it stood on its suckers, tried to change flow setting - the noise and vibrations are similar to those of Fluvals whatever I tried. Also construction is not really user friendly, every time you try to detach it from glass the suckers get detached and you need to pick them up one by one from the bottom of the tank and the flow setting button is extremely hard to turn even with dry hands, but normally your hands are wet when you deal with pumps. I dont really understand this product.Update: In the end I bought jebao/jecod dc 650 for just a little bit more money. When not on max setting (~2/3rd), with a flexible return pump tube and embedded in coarse filter foam this is now close enough to silent + half the size. Flow is slightly less though.

Not impressed with this pump.I purchased it to upgrade my Fluval Evo 13.5 pump. I wanted a quiet pump as the tank is set up in my bedroom.It is very powerful - much more powerful than the one that comes standard. However, it is not silent. When I first set it up I was a bit disappointed to discover it is only slightly It quieter than the original. I thought it needed time to break in, however one month in and it has gotten much worse! It vibrates and rattles like anything. It is currently reading at 57 decibels, no amount of tinkering works to quieten it down. Sure, it might slightly quieter than your average pump but to describe it as silent is definitely false advertising.If you’re after a decent pump and don’t mind the noise this will be fine for you.If you are like me, and desperately want a silent pump then the search continues…
