A JOYOUS YET SOMETIMES POIGNANT TALE - (PROPER-JOB 2)
Following the success of the 2019 feel-good movie, we go back to Port Isaac tocontinue the story.Based on a true story but perhaps given a little licence for entertainment purposesthe All For One tale though filled with joyous Sea-Shanty's coupled with a goodmeasure of humour and feel-good moments does have a poignant side to it.The group enjoyed great success with heir first album and are on the verge ofa second, however the record-label boss has great re servations on doing so.The groups lead singer Jim (James Purefoy) struggles with the loss of his fatherJago (David Hayman) often seeing flashbacks, Jim has turned to heavy drinkingand when a new group member is selected who is a farmer rather than fishermanJim drowning in grief walks away from the group. However, a meeting of minds with a 'emmet' a woman who is also a well knownsinger/songwriter who has bought a home on the outskirts of Port Isaac leadsto a romance and a time of reflection for Jim.Unbeknown to the Jim and many of the group Maggie (Maggie Steed) (Jims's mum)has contacted michael eavis owner of the world-famous Glastonbury Festival andit's site, which will lead to the group being invited to perform at the festival......Jim will again sing with his friends. As indicated before I did live in Cornwall for 5 years and had on several occasionsvisited Port Isaac...can say, it was a pleasure to see the stunning scenery I rememberwell.A film full of joy and tinged with sadness that in my opinion is well worth a viewing.

Part two.Loved it.
I saw this film in a cinema before the first , which I ordered straight after seeing this. Guest star,Imelda Mayis a nice addition to the cast. Both fims are really entertaining, and share the same feelgood factor,I enjoyed every bit of each. You can see why Glastonbury loved the Fisherman's friends so much.A great pair of films, I'd glad do another if they make another follow-up.

DVD……
……looked forward to this film, having enjoyed the first original.(I love their music and song, as does my husband.)This film seems not so impactful, though if based on true story happenings that could be an insult to the real Fishermen’s Friends.I will watch again……of course I will!

Fantastic Film
Loved the first film and love this one. A real feel good film, emotional at times and the music is fantastic. Hope they keep going for many years to come

An excellent sequel.
Gave it a 4 because in all honesty it ain't as good as the first one mostly since it, by definition lacks the freshness and originality of the original. Nevertheless, it is an excellent film in its own right.
