This is a great hat...love the dark blue getting me out of the boring beige...easy to keep clean.Man, that is a big brim.....so love that , I feel I am in the shade!Draw string...love that protection and you will need it because this hat catches the wind!

I purchased despite the other reviews saying the slide-grip doesn't grip the cinch strings. Wish I hadn't becuase it's true! They are useless, even the slightest tug and the slider moves. The material lip of the crown interior is too short and poorly stitched, so instead of folding up into the hat, it flops down on your forehead (looks bad, feels weird). The crown is deep, which is great for big heads like mine--but it's almost TOO deep, making it hard to see. This wouldn't be a problem if the cinch string stayed put--but the sliders are cheap and don't keep it cinched, so it slides down over my forehead too far. The brim is very wide--love it! Unfortunately, the hat ships folded (unecessarily) in quarters, so the brim has permanent kinks which are at 90 degrees to where the snaps are to fold the brim up (poor planning?). It WILL keep me dry if it rains and keep the sun off my face, but the fit isn't good due to the poor quality of the sliders, so I'll probably return it. It's a shame because otherwise it's a pretty good rain/sun hat, especially for the price.

Great hat. Lightweight, nice large brim, easy to pack for hiking. Much cooler than my other UPF hats. Just ordered another one.
