Must have for the garden
Great tool and so easy to use. Will always have a garden weasel as part of my gardening tools!

Depending on your soil you may really need a tiller...
I am 63 and live in Middle Tennessee just northeast of Nashville. I wanted to work up some soil for a flower bed and possible work up some areas in the yard where I have some drainage issues without having to resort to a shovel. The soil here is mostly clay with rocks thrown in for good measure. Assembly of the weasel was fairly straight forward - no tools required. I can see why some have expressed concern with the plastic head that holds the business end of the tool. I had high hopes for this tool. I was able to scratch up an inch or two of some soil that I had previously amended with much effort. When I tackled some compacted clay I quickly realized this wasn't the tool for me. Even breaking the clay up with a shovel did little to make the job any easier. I then tried seeing how it would work in soil with grass and other sundry vegetation that flourishes in my yard. I spent more time pulling grass and roots from the tool than I did trying to cultivate with it. My solution was to break down and buy a small Mantis Tiller with a 4-cycle Honda engine (Lowes carries them). Yep, it was about 10x the cost of the weasel but it was much more effective. You can flip the tines on it to change from tilling to cultivating. If your ground is hard the tiller will bounce - ya just got go a little slower... All that said, I will keep the weasel because it will work well if the soil is already loose and has been amended. But unless you live some place where the soil is good and easily worked I suggest you pass on the weasel.

Better than a rake! Works on clay soil
Background:I purchased this to help plant fescue grass seed. My back yard was poorly seeded by the builder and I need to reseed the entire yard. Also I have many spots in the front sodded area that needs to be patched from the builder not maintaining the sod after installing it. I am located in central Tennessee and the soil is compacted clay with lots of rock. Grass seed will not grow unless you manage to break up the crust on the clay soil and introduce air.Usage:The product does what is says. I tried it on dry and wet clay soil and it works on both. On the dry soil it breaks the crust up and sends the dusty dirt everywhere. On wet soil I churns it up nicely leaving nice tilled soil afterwards. I prefer to use it on soil the day after it rains. This creates the prefect bed for new grass seed. The amount of effort to use this varies greatly. At times it is easy to push back and forth but once you get into rooted existing vegetation it is much more difficult. It is still much easier than using a garden rake.Issues:- Things get wrapped up in the tines. Our sod was fescue so it has netting in it. It gets all tangled up and has to be cut out.- The tines are made from pot metal. I have had two fail already but expected this before buying due to the rocky soil.

Good product
Not a bad product, but deducting a star because itβs just not for clay-compared type soil (north Texas), I found it difficult, but overall great product! I wish it would be worked. I would need a bigger, heavier one for what Iβm needing it for.

Small, lightweight projects only
I really expected a lot more from a $50 cultivator...its worth a solid $15. I do love that each tine is easily removable to accommodate tight areas, in my case, between my patio and fence, but honestly, my small hand held double sided garden hoe/shovel does a far superior job. I was trying to avoid getting down on my hands and knees with my bad back.If you have a much larger area to cultivate this is not the tool for you unless your ground is already turned. With this you do have to put a bit of strength into it. I thought it might be perfect for my small backyard project, digging up weeds and what not, but looks like I'm going to have to invest in a motorized one.

Works great, fast and effective
I've been wanting a cultivator for years and finally went for it. This thing worked shockingly well, easy and fast. Having read the comments, I had a concern that the plastic head holding the rollers might have been flimsy - it isn't. I'm a pretty strong 32 year old and our ground is complacted and kind of clay and I had to put very very little effort to turn it over, I did the whole section in my photos, tilled, seeded and tilled again in maybe 15 minutes. I don't know why someone would need to press so hard that the plastic flexes, but I came nowhere near needing that kind of pressure.Overall, extremely satisfied with it, I plan to re-seed a few bald areas in my lawn and this should make for quick and easy work of it.

Light duty work only
The Weasel is light weight and easy to use. The connector for the rotating tines is plastic and not terribly strong. It flexes under pressure and I worry it might break. The tines get tangled easily with grass and roots so it is really only for use on bare dirt.

Works mostly as advertised
I bought this to deal with bare spots in the lawn. It works very well in areas where the soil is not hard, but requires quite a bit of muscle on compacted or clay soil. Although nothing has broken, the tines moved out of position several times when working on these hard spots. I wonder how it will fare after several years of use, but I'm still glad I bought it. The lawn looks really good now!

Garbage
First off this product is only about 5' long by about 8" wide. It arrived in a box that was 5' long by 3' wide and it was not really a box. It was sandwiched between two boxes. The tines on the unit were poking through the boxes. When my wife opened it up one of the tines fell on the floor. It was broke. Just cheap white metal. I was sure glad it arrived like this as we just sent it right back and got a full refund. Better than after a month or so and then have it break and try to return it. Don't waste your money.

Need some strength
Good to have this type of tool. It does require a bit of strength to use it and the weeds stick in between the tines so have to be cleaned out after a little while. But, overall, it is a good tool

Easy to use, just like on tv
Exactly what I expected, although seller did not provide tracking (until asked) and then tracking showed the package staying put in one city for days. But it arrived ok, looking new in it's non-original (I hope) creative packaging. One improvement would be something to make it easier to work close to barriers like concrete sidewalks.
