Super Swirlies
Got the recent 2016 vinyl reissue of this album, pressing sounds fantastic!! Blonder Tongue is an absolute slayer of an album. It's got the perfect balance between edgy loud experimentalism, and beautiful melody. Everyone says it's like MBV mixed with Sonic Youth, well... Yeah that's true, but I would say it sounds like the above mentioned bands with some Polvo thrown in for good measure. Although it's no copy of those bands. Swirlies have a sound all their own that is very unique to their name even though you can hear their influences. They are a great band and really should have been a hit. Blonder Tongue and They Spent Their Wild Youthful Days are great. Every track on this album is amazing, truly a great listening experience from the second the needle drops. Fans of shoegaze, lo-fi, noise, math rock, alternative and indie will most definitely dig this album.

Greatly satisfied.
Excellent in every way. The (fast) shipping and arrival, the packaging/handling and the price. I ordered a vinyl record: Swirlies - Blonder Tongue Audio Baton. The album itself is great, the edition of it as well. It's abrassive and loud in it's musical style, Swirlies at their best!Thank you.

Your Brain On...
Loud. Abrasive. Sumptuous. Ethereal. Delightful. The Swirles do manage the mantle of MBV, then stray, nominally, away (is that a steel drum way in the back beneath thrashing guitars...?). Anyhow - thank god. This, as written by a MBV fan from jump (catch 'em at Max's in Hoboken?), Ride and the rest of the cophonous 'sonic wall of sound' crowd (I can enumerate on discography)...The Swirles rock.

THE must-have release from Swirlies.
This was a wonderful issue of one of my favorite '90s albums. Little to no surface noise. Great packaging. Highly recommended for people with ears.

totally solid
Solid beatiful album. 40 something minutes of great guitar and vocals. Nice shoegaze feel but by no means cookie cutter or boring. Really swweeeeeettttt record. Don't know why this band is so obscure. Some entry tracks are "Pancake," "Wrong Tube," and "Tree Chopped Down." I can't stop listening to the Swirlies.

Seriously one of the best albums to have ever happened in the 90s
Seriously one of the best albums to have ever happened in the 90s. Really takes off from where My Bloody Valentine ended. I would even consider this album BETTER than My Bloody Valentine's 2013 effort, M.B.V. There's just a lot of great song structure, layers of sound, tremolo induced detuning, and great melodies. I feel that M.B.V. kind of went into "loopstation" mode and it just didn't feel like there was any effort to create a variety of sound that they could have been capable of. So, Swirlies is a winner for me! Looking forward to the vinyl re-issue of this album!
