I had bought a camouflaged color previously for my other dog when he was a puppy, and liked it so much I went ahead and bought the next 3 sizes larger for him. I was excited to see the black hardware on this purple collar. I love this brand as well as my great danes Nani and Camo. The fully adjustable fit works great for how fast they grow and it's a very durable collar.

This was my 3rd Mendota collar purchase, same dog. That is not a bad thing! First one purchased at less than one year. He outgrew it. He wore the 2nd one for about 5 1/2 yr. The only wear and tear problem? After that amount of time, the D ring made to secure farthest end of collar and also used for his dog tags, separated while walking on leash in driveway. Found later he'd lost his orange microchip notification tag. ,(Had to pay a bit more for shoddy replacement chip tag than for this collar!) So, new collar needed and we learned to check D ring pretty regularly, especially as collar ages! All in all, I think 5 years was a great time for this collar to remain secure. Did not hesitate to purchase this brand again! It seems secure, comfortable and we prefer a buckle to a snap tire closure!

My dog sleeps with me, so I wanted a collar that is soft, yet secure. This fits the bill.
