Slice Of Life

It's mesmerized me for hours after reading it. As I mentioned in the title itself, this book of poetry by Jyoti Saraf is not about her life only; it is all about philosophy of life. After facing various junctures and crossroads in life, a woman pours out what she dealt with during these phases of the life. I have preferred to label the poet as 'a woman' rather than identifying the writer herself as a poet. One reason for that is the womanness reflected in each stanza of each poem. The book might be one slice of poet's life, but it verifies the womanhood in totality. Just like Shakespearean verses focuses upon human emotions, and for that reason they are celebrated as universal verses, the poetry of this book celebrities womanhood at the fullest.It truly verifies the woman's unheard echoes, however, it is not limited to the emotions of woman only. It touches the human intellect inculcating philosophy of life.In a way, consisting of English and Hindi poems, the book entices the expectations of people from all walks of life and fulfills them ubiquitously.I congratulate author for such a wonderful slice of life and wish to read more books from her.
