Without a doubt works. We keep lots of fruit for our toddler and this has definitely extended the life of them. The only caution is to not overpump the air as our initial container cracked by overpumping (only reason we did not get 5 stars). However, customer service was fantastic/responsive and replaced the container.

Would not recommend
The large container failed to keep vacuum, and the lock broke after 2 or 3 uses. The smaller container works well but is of much lesser use.

DO NOT BUY! Exploded!! Sharp plastic and marinade flew everywhere, cutting my husband. First use. Please take these off the market. They are dangerous!

These containers solve an age-old problem for me. How to keep bananas fresh longer. Wow! They work! I separate the slightly green bananas and cut most of the stem off. Don’t expose the fruit, just trim away most of the stem. I’m told the stem contains ripening chemicals, so you want to eliminate them. I put about 3 unpeeled bananas in the long container and leave on the counter. It’s been almost 2 weeks and they still taste and look good. I pump the air out about every three days just to insure they’re not leaking. I’m buying more. They’re awesome.UPDATE: bananas looked great on outside, but after a week they got soft and over ripe inside. I’ll try moving vacuum container into fridge with unpeeled bananas. I’ll report back here my findings.

Great containers and even better customer service
I bought this set and have been using them for marination for about six months now. The containers are good and hold a seal well for marination purposes. The pump that came with my initial product was damaged and I wrote to the seller and they sent me a juice container with a pump within two days. I thought that was tremendous customer service.My only crib is I dropped the larger of the containers about five feet and it cracked due to which I can't use it any more. This cost them a star because I expect tritan to be able to handle such a fall. I also wish they had a larger container (6QT or larger) that I could use to prep and store things like large salads.

Good when works
Pain in the butt to get the proper seal. Good when works, but extremely annoying when it doesn't (the majority of the time).
