Exactly what I was looking for
I wanted a fondue pot to properly heat oil and maintain the temperature. This has worked perfectly. It also cleans up very well. Great temperature settings for cheese. Very happy with purchase.

Temperature control is a game changer
Trying to get a good fondue going with a stereo is an exercise in futility - electric is absolutely the way to go.The only baffling thing about this product is the warning on the 2 foot long power cable that you’re not supposed to use an extension cable - do they think that we’re all going to be having our fondue on the floor?!

power chord attaches with magnets, horrible design.
The chord on this fondue pot is horrible, it is also short - we had to connect an extension chord to it to it to use it at our dining room table but because it attaches with magnets it kept falling off! TERRIBLE design.

Used
Everything seems to be in the package but it came in a busted up box, wrapping paper still on it from whoever the previous owner was… nothing seems to be damaged but every package was opened and a film was in the actual pot making it seem like it was used. Everything seems fine (assuming it works) we will just have to disinfect it and check. But I will say for $80, I expect what I’m buying to be new.

Not quite hot emough for us
We have steak (oil) fondues frequently, but my wife hates to clean the fondue pot afterward. When I saw this fondue with the pot separate from the heating element, I thought I had found the answer to her problem (and I did, as far as the cleaning part), but because of how and what we fondue along with the steak, the pot did not quite live up to our expectations. In addition to steak (which the pot does cook (albeit a little slow), we always make up a (pancake) batter in which we dip mushrooms, onions,, broccoli, shrimp, potatoes, etc.. In this case we were not able to get the temperature high enough for the batter fried vegies and they came out a little oily. It would be the perfect fondue for us, if it just got a little hotter. Cheese and chocolate fondues with lower temperature requirements should be a breeze.
