ArtMuseKits Olympus TCON-17X Tele Converter for The XZ-1

I received it from a third-party seller two weeks early, which was terrific! It was used but looked brand new. It was packed well. I immediatetly attached it to the 55-210 lens and took it out back, where the bird feeders are. The pics are of a white-winged dove. It handled the dappled lighting well. The camera was handheld. The second photo is a 100% crop of the first pic. The rest of the photos were taken the next day: squirrel, sandhill crane, and a 100% crop of the crane to show how sharp this TC can be.I processed these photos, just so you know. The originals were a little soft, but they often are with this lens when zoomed to full extension, which is how I was using it. I was sitting about thirty feet away from the bird. My initial impression of the teleconverter is good. I think with practice, it will help me get those shots the lens alone can't reach. I'm pleased with the purchase.

A little too heavy for native Sony lens. The receiving threaded O-ring where lens attaches will snap off at the slightest of bumping. Not rugged. Otherwise picture quality is perfect if you’re looking for a work around in price. I have a 55-210 e mount and the reach is nice at 400+. It will at times interfere with the AF and sensor awareness on a Sony A6000. But Sony sucks at creating good value for its native lenses when you want something special. For example, this set up cost me less than $300 and I get killer shots. Next option is a 300 G lens. $1200. Next option is a 400 G lens or G Master. $2500. And Sony only does a Teleconverter for that lens only. The GM. Not a lot of options and all stratosphere pricing. Yes you can do a non native lens. Sigma, Canon etc.... however good luck with camera cooperation. Sony cameras HATE non native lenses. Note. Need a thread converter to fit it. Like 5 bucks. 49 to 55.

Olympus glass has never failed me in the past, so reading online that this teleconverter would increase the range of the 55mm - 210mm zoom on my Sony a6000 was good to hear. I also had to purchase a 49 to 55mm adaptor ring for a few bucks. Just had my first play over the Mississippi river at full zoom (535mm equivalent) and moving targets. No loss of f-stops as this converter lets all the light in. Very pleased with my first 'play'. Cannot wait to try it out on more of the wildlife around me and very much looking forward to a trip to Yellowstone next year.Photo's shared are the TCON on Sony a6000 with sony 55-210 lens. 100 iso, f8, 1/500.Recently bought Sont 18-135, which has a 55m front thread that the TCON screws directly on to. More vignetting at wider end but super sharp at the long end.

I REALLY wanted to like this, as it appears to add range to my Sony A6000. It is a quality product. But if you compare pixels in photos takes with and without the converter, you can see that it doesn't actually make photo better. Lines aren't as clear, and the color is off. Digitally cropping from the native lens produces a better image. I might use it where the magnification will help frame a far off subject, but it will not give a higher quality photo. That said I didn't use it on an Olympus...

I got this to use as a budget friendly telephoto lens on my Sony A6000. This essentially converts the 210mm lens into 535mm, while retaining auto focus, and NOT costing over $2,000.I went out back and took a couple of pictures of things I've previously photographed and I see a huge leap in the lens's reach without any discernible loss of photo quality. As a bonus my wife can use the converter with her 300mm Nikkor lens, giving her 765mm reach. We've both very happy with the results of the converter.The converter was purchased on Jan 4th and arrived from Japan to the U.S. East Coast on Jan 13th.

When using it on my 55-210 lens I lose a bit of the low end but it makes the lens roughly 100mm-360mm and the images at full zoom are crisp and sharp. You gain the zoom without sacrificing image quality. I love it.

This hack to extend the kit zoom lens is ingenious and works easily. You need a step up adapter to attach the lens. Moon Japan was excellent. I expedited shipping and expected wait was June 13. I got it in great condition on May 21.

This is a nice tc which is smaller than it looks on the web. Very versatile. I have used it with Olympus Stylus 1 with the CLA-13 adapter and it has produced some nice photos of distant objects. Some points:1) Always remember to engage the tcon17 function in camera menu 2 in stylus 1. This will ensure a)that your EXIF data is correct b)that your camera starts up at full tele zoom c)that better IS is applied.2) Even though the object may be moving in your LCD frame, just take the shot, the IS does a great job and you'll get more sharp photos than you thought possible.3) Hold the lens in a tight and comfortable manner.4) At full zoom, quick moving objects like small birds will still give you trouble. Try continuous shooting.Overall, I'm happy I made this purchase-it doesn't come cheap.

カメラはパナソニックのＧ８、レンズは45-175mmに装着しています。定番の使い方ですね。画質は想像していたよりもクリアです。ただ、レンズ単体の望遠端では手ブレは抑えられていますが、このテレコンを付けると、抑えきれずに細かく像が揺れてしまいます。連写してブレていない画像を選択するか、三脚を使って撮影する必要がありそうです。また、最短撮影距離も１．７倍かどうかは測定していませんが、レンズ単体よりも伸びてしまうようです。より大きく写すためというより、遠くのものを引き寄せるために使用するレンズだと思います。

ニコン クールピクスp500に付けてますカメラに関しては専門用語もままならぬ完全なるど素人です。運動会の撮影でもっと望遠できたらいいのにな…と思って探していたらアダプターが並行輸入で販売されていて それを使えばこれが使えて 更に望遠できるのか…ラッキーって感じで 勢いで購入しました。結果…素晴らしかったです。p500は光学36倍ですが これが1.7倍なので 約60倍！確かに遠くから狙い撃ちできます。三脚が必要ですがね。晴れの日は 三脚がなくてもシャッタースピードを上げて上手くやれば ほぼ満足な絵が撮れました。曇りになってくる、または 屋内の場合はなかなか難しいです。それから この手のデジカメはレンズを変えずに引きから望遠までできるのが利点ですが当然引きの時はレンズを外さなきゃならないのは したかないけど、やっぱり面倒ですねw望遠で狙ってた子供が こっちに向かってきた！引かなきゃ！ わー！スナイパーがスコープで狙っている状態みたい！ もしくは007のオープニングみたい！あ…レンズ外さなくちゃ…あら…退場しちゃったよ おいwみたいな事もしばしば…でも 動きの少ない対象物 例えば 月 なんかはよく撮れて(もちろん三脚要 もしくは腕が固定できる場所)個人的には面倒を補っても余る程の 素晴らしい商品でした。 画質とか云々は 他の方のレビューを参考にしてくださいw

1インチコンデジのテレコンバーターとして購入したものの解像度が悪くて使えません。これなら、デジタルズームの方がましです。又、ミラーレス一眼用にもやっぱり駄目でした。残念！

山岳写真愛好家です。デジイチは本体・レンズ群の重量と嵩高さから年を重ねるにつれお蔵入りとなり、高倍率のコンデジ派になりました。これまでテレコンはレイノックスの2.2倍の2020PROを使っていましたが、いろいろ工夫した甲斐もなく、現メイン機のニコンP510とは相性が悪く、35mm換算300mm(2.2倍なので660mm)以上になるとピントも甘くなり、色収差も目立ち、ついに改善できませんでした。よって、今回のオリンパスの17Xの購入に至りました。評判どおりP510とは大変相性が良く、しかもリーズナブルであるのに満足していますが、しかし、山岳写真を趣味とする者にとって、フィルターやフードを取り付けるネジ溝が切られていないという点は最大の欠点であり問題です。ピーカンの中の真っ白な雪山を想像していただければわかると思いますが、この点は、我々にとっては看過できない致命傷につながってきます。このレビューはフィルターやフードを取り付けるための簡単な工作の紹介です。私の場合は2020PROを使っていたため82mmのフィルター・フードがあります。これらを利用するため77−82mmのステップアップリングをアマゾンのゼロポート販売品(CHINA製？)を求めました。しかし、市販のリングではオリンパスの17Xとは残念ながらピタリとは合いません。ノギスで両者を計ってみると0.35mm程リング(77mm)の方が小さい。そこで厚さ0.12mmの日東電工の超強力両面テープNo.5015POS(ニトムズから市販)をリングのネジ溝の高さ(巾)2mmに合わせてカッターで切り出し、そのネジ溝の上を、剥離紙をめくりながら慎重にゆっくりと2周させます。(この場合テープは日東電工製に限ります。これのポリ系への接着力はホントに強力です)そして貼り終えたリングを17Xに嵌めこみます。見事にピクリとも動きません。これまでの経験から、このテープは時間の経過とともに粘着力はより完璧になっていきます。これで私の場合は2020PROの遺産とも言うべきフィルターやフードのリユースが適いました。私のP510環境ではフィルター＋フードを付けても、カメラ側400mm(テレコン1.7倍＝680mm)からケラレの心配はありません。また、フィルターはレンズプロテクトかUV以外は使わないと言う人なら、超強力両面テープNo.5015POSは剥がすのが容易ではありませんので、それを覚悟で77mmを求められて直接取り付けられたらいいでしょう。他のフィルターも使うと言う方なら、ヤフオクで「保護リング」と言う名で検索すれば、77−77のリングが即落品でヒットすると思います。
