My dream has finally come true
NodaHoro is the most trusted and loved enamel container brand in Japan and I have wanted this pickling container for half a decade. Never have I thought that I could find it in the US so never looked for it up to now!The enameled containers are fragile. Handle with care and they last a very long time. I quite like the little water collector too, it works great when the bran bed gets too watery. This is definitely one of the tools I will love, take care, and keep using for decades, because it is worth it.

Great pickling container
This came with no blemishes and is perfect for making Japanese pickles. It's easy to clean and doesn't retain odors. It's not too small or too big. If you're looking for a Japanese pickling container, this is perfect. It fits in the refrigerator well.

Great size that fits perfectly in the fridge
Bought this to start my own nukazuke. Very well made and perfect size that fits in the fridge. Just FYI if you are starting your own nukazuke, you shouldn’t really keep it in the fridge at the beginning until the rice bran is nicely fermented and the veggies become slightly tart. Once the nuka (rice bran) becomes fermented you can keep it in the fridge.

Inaccurate product dimension! Not [12.13 x 6.57 x 5.08 inches] Its [10.12 x 6.38 x 5.04 inches].
I separately bought (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007CM3GK/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_5?smid=A3IMVM17EAURSO&psc=1) without the water straining cup, which was less than $35 and the product dimension is (10.12 x 6.38 x 5.04 inches) and accurate.I wanted to get one with the water strainer for Nukazuke (Japanese pickle making) and a bit of bigger in size, so I ordered this product despite fact I debated for a while since it was pricey; which came with the water cup and instructions on how to make Nukazuke in all Japanese, however the actual container is exactly the same size as the other one (10.12 x 6.38 x 5.04 inches) .So basically, I paid $20.72 more for the water straining cup and instructions (Be aware, no English translation attached). It is coming directly from Japan so I understand but they need to correct the product dimensions. The product itself is amazing quality that you will never find something like this in the US or perhaps any other countries, so I highly recommend this container. It is solid and not cheap made, and for sure this will last for many years with a proper care.

Tickled About this Pickling Container
Very nice enameled metal(?) container with lid. The depth will make it convenient to mix up the nukadoko. If I understand correctly, the lid is not vacuum tight (but secure enough), b/c the “fermentation” probably needs to release some gases. The only thing that is porcelain is the little cup with tiny holes to remove excess liquid which accumulated during the pickling process.I will see how well it works from a container standpoint since this will be my first “rodeo” making my OWN nukadoko and not a pre-made mix.

The is the perfect for my refrigerator.
The size is perfect and I have been enjoying Nukazuke in Japanese everyday. My favorite is Kabu-Japanese Radish as the best in season since I am able to get them easily in Japanese grocery shop in Los Angeles. Thank you.
