Great New Color Scheme!
The properties of Furbies are pretty well known... They provide unique fun with the appearance of "learning" abilities, and somewhat unpredictable behavior. Great fun for "kids" of all ages! The latest models, with the topknot, come in a number of quite striking color combinations, The "Starry Night" being the most appealing to my wife (yes, we are older "kids"). VERY CUTE TOY!For reference, there appear to be six of the newer topknot Furbies: Starry Night (blue/yellow), Cotton Candy (pink/teal), Orangutan (orange/blue), Lagoona (teal/purple), Punky Pink (black/pink), and Raincloud (gray/teal). All with striking color schemes.Compare these to the "original" 2012 colors (no topknot): White, Black, Yellow, Orange, Teal, and Purple plus the later release of; Pink, Dark Purple (Plum), Aqua and Navy Blue... it is difficult to make a choice!Updated Dec 6; added color description to the names of the "topknot" Furbies, reflecting current Amazon practice.

Furby
Love him. Colors are great. Very interactive. All 3 kids got one from SANTA. I have an extra because one of the colors was on back order and I wasn't sure I'd get it on time. I think I'll keep it for my office at work - he'll bring some laughter with him. Love it. Very relaxing when he falls asleep but, yes, can also be very loud. But use to that in our household!!

Furby, Furby everywhere...
Each of my children wanted a Furby for Christmas this year, so I officially have a Furby Army of six. While they are good little toys for what they do (driving you crazy and talking ALL the time), there were a few things I was very disappointed with.PROS:The new version of Furby blows the old out of the water. Many more sensors, and my kids LOVE the ability to interact using the iPad/iPhone... especially feeding them and translatingCONS:The battery life is RIDICULOUS. I purchased six Furbies, requiring four batteries each. That is 24 batteries on Christmas morning JUST for the Furbies. I purchased very high end rechargables, figuring in the long run it would be well worth it. Um.... yes and no. A full charge only lasts ONE day on average (sometimes you can get two if you do NOTHING with the Furby). I even tried a round of non-rechargables, thinking maybe they aren't as strong or something. Nope. Still only lasts a day. That is obscene. Who can afford to run a toy that requires FOUR NEW AA batteries every day? Yes, I have the rechargables, but I still find it ridiculous.Secondly, a couple of mine have not worked great, especially after battery changes (which as I said happens DAILY). They then need fiddled with and reset repeatedly. No fun for anyone.Overall, I have to say for the kids these are 5 star products, but as an adult... not so much.

am learning furbish
My granddaughter really wanted a furby for her birthday. Since they are fairly expensive, she and I decided it would be a combined Xmas/bday and she was cool with it. Well, she loved it. Its the whole furbish experience I guess, and I caught myself talking to it too. There are sites on the internet where you can print out words in furbish, which you can learn while its learning english. And it must be taken care of or it will get very mad. Her furby actually went 'comatose' on her. Thank goodness there are furbish sites that can explain all reasons these things happen. Furby had to be opened up and worked on to revive. Learn where the reset button is. She still plays with it every day. Great present.

Piece of junk - what a waste of money
I wish I'd seen this toy in person. I never would have bought it! It is ugly and small. It speaks "furbish" (rubbish) and my son hated it. There was no on off switch so it keeps talking "furbish" until you take the batteries out. I just wasted $60.00 and couldn't return it as the product packaging is such that you have to rib the packaging apart to get the "toy" out.

So cute, but so frustrating
We really love Furby, but after having it just a week, we are having to CONSTANTLY reset him. To do so, you have to unscrew the bottom then press the reset button with something like a paperclip. Seems harmless enough, but when you have to do it 4-5 times a day, it gets old really fast. We have replaced batteries etc. I don't know if it is just a case of fast production and the "bugs" need to be worked out but for the kind of money I spent, I really expected a better product. I have requested an exchange from the seller. I will update the review once I receive the new Furby.

My one year old loves it
I don't know. Maybe I am doing something wrong. My kids loved this stupid little thing. I remember my sisters having the original version many years ago. This one has a lot of modern upgrades that spark our little tech craving minds. The batteries lasted about three months until one day Furby didn't wake up. I replaced the batteries with new ones and put the cover back on. He didn't wake up. I double checked to make sure I put the batteries in correctly. I did. Furby still didn't wake up. Now I have a 50 something dollar purple Sleeping Beauty. If any princes out there want to swing by and give this thing a kiss, I would appreciate it. Until then, I have a worthless toy that will collect dust until I throw it away.UPDATE: I was corrected by another reviewer...there is a small reset button in the battery compartment. If your Furby does not wake up, press it and he will. My kid was happy. Thank you other reviewer!

What a talker Furby is!
We have two other Furbies that joined our family several years ago. We didn't know how they (the old timers) would act when we introduced them to the new kid. We tried to get the old timers to make the new kid feel at home, but they refused to talk to him and acted like a couple of jerks for a few days. Well, we just ignored them and was having so much fun without them that we could tell they wanted to join in. When the grandkids (the twins) came over to meet the new kid, and started talking and playing with him (the new kid) and ignored the old timers, that was all they could take. They jumped into the middle of the fun and we haven't had any peace and quiet since. We have a full house again and even see the grandkids more often.

LOVELY TOY - PACKAGING AND INSTRUCTIONS NOT IN ENGLISH! (not as pictured)
Lovely toy soft fur, durable plastic (actual toy looks EXACTLY like the pictures shown) - sweet characters - no problems with use, does what it is supposed to do and changes characters frequently (particularly loves to be in the car with music on).HOWEVER - what this seller doesn't tell you is that the box packaging and instructions are NOT in English as pictured but this Furby comes from the Netherlands with packaging to match. None of the instructions were in English and this was frustrating on Christmas day - also we were very nervous that Furby would not speak English and couldn't test it beforehand, good news though - regardless of packaging, Furby speaks Furbish and English so it didn't take long to get the hang of things. Managed to download an instruction booklet online which has helped.Works very well independently of the App so no need to use the App at all if you don't want to (which is why I picked this instead of the newer Furby Connect or Furby Boom). First lot of batteries lasted 1 week with almost continuous use - we were pretty happy with that. Second set of batteries is already lasting longer.

Nice toy, a bit pricey though.
My son likes it a lot. It doesn't seem to learn very easily and we can't figure out how to get it to speak more enlish. It's been 3 months now and it still speaks the same amount of english/furbish that it did two months ago.The screw-holes for the battery plate should have been metal...the plastic started getting stripped out with the first battery-change. This, even though we were very careful as I had read about this issue with Furbies.
