Sena30K-01 Motorcycle Bluetooth Headset/Mesh Communication System (Single)

Now that I’ve had this for about a year, I’m blown away at how good it sounds, according to the people I call. One thing I haven’t figured out, is when you’re riding, supposedly you can talk to other riders on the road, but I’ve never been able to communicate with or even hear anyone else. I don’t know how this works, or even how to set it up. It’s not in the low quality directions that came with the unit.

I was skeptical of the value of communicating with fellow riders. However, I now regret not getting a com unit years ago. Communicating doesn't take away from the ride. Instead, you're able to share certain moments instantly with you're other riders which seems to just it a slight more value to it. So if you frequently group ride, then this product is worth it if you have the budget.Now regarding the Sena 30k itself. The build quality itself is solid. Speakers sound great although hearing certain people at higher speeds (around 80 mph) becomes difficult. This could also be due to other's mic placement and wind noise coming from both yours and your co-rider's helmets. There is a setting called aduio boost or something like that i need to try. From what I understand, it lowers your base quality but increases the max volume... This could be great if communicating is more important than music. Installing was a little tricky. I had to cut some the plastic parts of my liner to clamp to fit. It's a little annoying knowing that you have to alter your helmet. After installing though, it fits good and you can hardly notice any alteration to the helmet (note that my helmet did have speaker cutouts so installing that part is easy). The biggest flaw this com unit has is the learning how to use it. It maybe because none of us have had COM units before, but getting connected to each other wasn't a seamless task. Myself as a Mechanical Engineering major along with 3 others would consider ourselves pretty tech savey struggled to get a four way intercom going. We aren't coding apps and stuff, but we can learn electronic stuff pretty fast. I know there are many resources out there like videos, an app, and documentations showing differently connecting techniques. But for being a COM unit, you would think one of simplest things to do would be to connect to your other riders. So be prepared to spend and hour or two just studying how to connect, especially with more than one other rider. Overall though, great product.

I've had my Sena for about 5 months now, and figured this would be a good time to review it. I am happy with it, and I do recommend it. I struggled with which model to get and whether to go with the Cardo or another brand and ultimately decided to go with the gold standard.My buddy and I both ride sport bikes with modded exhausts and the sound is clear and crisp even above the sound of those exhausts. For comparison, I ride a CBR650F with a 2Bros. Tarmac without the silencer, and he rides an R6 with a Danmoto short. Both scream at high rpm, and that's where the R6 is happy so it's always screaming. The 30K performs well, and cancels the background noise to make it easy to talk to each other.Speaker placement is key though so you have to keep that in mind. Make sure the speakers are placed over your ear canal when your helmet is on, and definitely get it as close to your ear as you can. I have a Scorpion EXO that has cutouts that aren't quite in the right spot. While it works, I'm looking into modding the cutouts to move them more into alignment with my ears.Controls are easy if you can memorize them. I ride at least 4 to 5 times a week on average, usually commuting to work and back. I still haven't memorized all of the controls. The voice command is also something I haven't quite figured out either. That's my reason for a 4 out of 5 star rating here.Long story short, it's worth the investment, and definitely think about long term because the mesh tech is definitely where they are going so the 30k is future proofed from that aspect.

The Sena 30k is just as phenomenal as everyone describes it.The sound quality is absolutely amazing, and does great as drowning out the drinking noise of a single cylinder thumper engine.Installation can be a bit of a nightmare, since you have to tear apart the interior of the helmet, and reinstall it, but it's worth it.Be sure to download the Sena dock program on your computer, and update it before use. It comes with the base version of the program on it.Also, be sure to download the app, and get used to the settings. I highly recommend turning your mic monitoring down as it'll be a little overbearing for your friends ears at the stock setting.Also turn off the "hey Sena" feature, as it will pick up random things, and cut off your comms mid ride, for upwards of a minute leaving you no way to communicate.

This product was relatively easy to install... took me less than 30 minutes. Setup was simple and Ibwas able to pair it to my phone very quickly. I can now listen to music and hear GPS instructions inside the helmet.

The Sena intercoms are excellent quality, we have purchased 4 overtime and all are still working, they never fail to perform. The new 30K is very impressive, the voice control works a treat and the pairing with other intercoms is super easy. Its a good product and worth the dollars.

Yo dispongo de una moto BMW que lleva audio incorporado y GPS, motivo por el que debo conectar el 30K, con la moto para oir la radio, con el GPS y con el teléfono. No hay manera de que todo funcione, los manuales son muy generalistas y te sacan de pocas dudas. He enviado no se cuantos mensajes a Sena ibérica, Sena Spain para solicitar ayuda y ni una sola respuesta, por tanto un "0" a Sena en este aspecto.2.-Otra cosa que me parece mentira es que solamente se le puedan pedir los comandos en Ingles con el precio que tienen.3.-En todos los sitios que he visto este auricular, disponía de cargador de mechero, en estos que Amazon me ha enviado no venia este cable..

Stimavo Sena e ho scelto di affidarmi ai loro prodotti per poter effettuare chiamate, ascoltare musica e parlare con il passeggero mentre vado in moto. Passo tante ore sulla moto, in quanto mi piace fare viaggi lunghi, per cui l'uso dell'interfono diventa apprezzato in molte situazioni. Inoltre mi permette di sfruttare appieno il sistema di connettività della mia moto.In ogni caso, scelgo il 30K in quanto precedentemente venivo da un sena serie 10 che mi aveva dato buone impressioni e convinto di scegliere il miglior brand sul mercato. Tuttavia, con il passare del tempo ho dovuto ricredermi su questo aspetto, e anzi, non consiglierei il Sena 30K ai miei amici.Innanzitutto bisogna considerare che le dimensioni sono davvero grandi. Si sapeva, ma appena si deve installare sul casco iniziano i problemi. Far passare i cavi non è una cosa banale e la base dell'interfono crea talmente spessore che una volta montata non si fisserà mai più come prima. A ciò bisogna sommare l'ingombro dell'intefono, che pesa poco meno di 70 grammi che vanno aggiunti ovviamente al peso della base e a quello degli altoparlanti (rinnovati con quelli HD nell'edizione 2022.Istallazione portata a termine sia nel mio casco (un HJC RPHA70) e su quello del passeggero (Premier Devil), iniziamo dunque a usarli. Connettività Intercom ottima, buon audio anche se di tanto in tanto la connessione si perde per poi ripristinarsi. A tratti qualche problema di comunicazione in cui io sento il passeggero ma lei non sente me, inspiegabile, ma per risolverlo è necessario spegnere e riaccendere gli interfoni, a volte rieffettuare l'abbinamento Intercom tra i due.Insomma, ci adattiamo, per un prodotto che costa quasi 500 euro iniziamo a storcere il naso. Nonostante questo la qualità audio è molto buona. Volume eccezionale, ci permette di parlare anche a velocità autostradali senza urlare, volume adattativo, quindi non c'è bisogno di agire sulla ghiera ogni istante, ma il Sena 30K adatta automaticamente il volume in quanto percepisce i rumori esterni.Il microfono permette di effettuare chiamate senza far percepire all'interlocutore nè il rumore della moto nè tantomeno il fruscio del vento. Questo è eccezionale, in quanto si possono anche effettuare chiamate di lavoro mentre si è in moto (fatto tante volte, dato che lavoro come libero professionista).Trovo però molto scomodi i comandi. Ci sono un totale di tre pulsanti sull'interfono e uno sulla base. La combinazione dei tre e la durata della pressione permette di interagire con tutti i comandi. Il problema è che sono troppi. Difficile ricordare le varie sequenze, difficile con i guanti riconoscere il pulsante centrale o premere la ghiera una, due, tre volte, per uno, due, cinque secondi a seconda della funzione che si vuole richiamare.Però risolvo con il TFT della mia moto che mi permette sia di gestire le chiamate sia di gestire la riproduzione musicale. Anche in questo caso, manca a priori una migliore attenzione verso il motociclista che usa i guanti e una propensione dell'azienda a risolvere un problema anzichè crearne di nuovi.La tecnologia Mesh 2.0 è una valida aggiunta. Permette di creare una rete di comunicazione su un totale di 10 canali, con cui poter parlare in maniera semplice con altri motociclisti che hanno lo stesso sistema. Il sistema Mesh, rispetto alla comunicazione Bluetooth, assicura un audio più pulito ma soprattutto una maggiore copertura che viene stimata a più di 1,5 km.La durata della batteria è nella media. Inferiore ad altri competitor a pari budget, il che richiede almeno una ricarica ogni due giorni, ma consiglio una ricarica al giorno in modo da non avere sorprese.Ricarica che avviene con una vetusta micro-USB, protetta da uno sportellino in plastica.Insomma, mi adatto, non sono uno che si tira indietro e cerco comunque di usare l'interfono in varie condizioni. Sole, giornate calde, giornate fredde. Giusto qualche giorno fa parto per l'ennesimo viaggio in moto e mi becco una solida pioggia. Apparentemente non succede nulla, mi dirigo verso il traghetto, prendo la nave e mi dirigo verso la Corsica fiducioso della bella vacanza che mi aspetta.Il giorno dopo, si arriva, ci si prepara a risalire in moto, accendiamo gli interfoni e sorpresa. L'interfono non si accende. Nonostante io mi fossi premurato di chiudere bene lo sportellino della ricarica, in qualche modo l'acqua è entrata, l'interfono è danneggiato e inusabile. Pazienza, la vacanza è di soli due giorni, ma inizio a pensare che comunque la cosa mi fa storcere il naso e che se dovessi acquistare lo stesso interfono per avere questa sorpresa in un periodo più lungo, la cosa mi farebbe davvero arrabbiare.Contatto dunque l'assistenza Sena che mi risponde con "non si preoccupi le facciamo la sostituzione". Però no, non ci casco più. Un utente che va in moto non può rischiare di non potersi godere la vacanza come pronosticato semplicemente per una pioggia. Perchè un dispositivo di questo genere deve essere resistente in ogni condizione, in quanto usato all'aperto e anche sotto le intemperie. E la sostituzione non mi va bene.Ho fatto il reso grazie al servizio amazon che mi ha riconosciuto la garanzia, ma passerò senz'altro a un dispositivo di altro brand, che perlomeno mi dia piena garanzia di poter utilizzare l'interfono anche sotto la pioggia e in condizioni avverse.Personalmente mi reputo molto deluso da Sena. Sia per il prodotto (che ricordo costare quasi 500 euro, non di certo bruscolini) sia per il comportamento dell'assistenza che ha risposto come se un interfono che si fulmina dopo una pioggia sia una cosa normale.Per me non lo è.
