Great USB drive.
I have a few of them and they are really fast. However, they are not suitable for booting the system, at least I have a problem with them on several systems qubes, unix and linux variants Great for transferring video or audio files.

Fast but physically vulnerable
I bought this product to give me external storage on my laptop. It is fast (1000 MB/S according to Crystal Disk) but it is quite long and this makes it vulnerable to damage by being hit or bent. However, large physical size seems to be the penalty one has to pay for a fast USBC drive. Also, although this product is less wide than some others, it did still block the neighbouring USBC port on my laptop. I overcame these problems by buying an extension cable (Boulton USB C Extension Cable 1m - 100W 4K@60Hz 3.2 USB C Extension 1m - USB Type C Cable Extension Lead USB C Male to Female) and the drive preforms just as well when connected to the cable.

Does the job
Not visible in any of the USB on the PC. Cant be formated. CMD disk format wont even recognise it. Updated drivers, scanned pc. I will try Kingston Help center, but this product is defectiveUpdate:As of 27.09.2024. I have a replacement from Kingston and this one works fine.Might have been a defective unit.I have updated my rating accordingly.

Dead within a couple hours
I must have been unlucky with this one - didn't last long at all.Didn't do anything unusual with it - formatted it, copied some files to it, downloaded some files to it - then ran a speed test with Black Magic app... that's when it died. The initial speeds were great - in excess of 600MB/s read and write on one laptop.Tested again on another and got 40MB/s?! Re-ran the test and second round it just locked up then hung the computer.I won't be buying another, nor can I recommend if you want your data to be secure.Shame cos it's good value. Wasn't keen on the sliding action to reveal the USB connector plus it's rather long.

Very fast & capacious
I bought this for its capacity, but its speed is a great bonus. It took about 3 hours to load my >600GB music library using only USB 3.0 (and if I had 3.2 Gen 2 it might NOT have halved the time because clearly my old PC was the bottleneck). And this Kingston Flash Drive got to an almost imperceptible warmth. It works well and I'm very happy with it.

Failed after 1 Year 6 Months
Nice and quick but failed completely after one and a half years of light infrequent use. Build quality is terrible, flimsy plastic. Returning to Amazon under warranty for full refund to replace with alternative of better build quantity.

First impressions seems great for video recording
I've been looking for a very small and light external storage option to complement the iPhone 15 Pro video recording. A lot of SSDs whilst relatively small are still a significant weight and size compared to the phone. So in that respect this fits the bill. My concern was the continuous write speed which many "thumb" size drives suffer from. The Blackmagic speed test on this device gives a sustained write (and read) speed of around 700 MB/s which is excellent. In a real life test so far I've managed to record over an hour of Prores LT 4k in the iPhone Blackmagic camera app without a problem. So very pleased with that and the weight/size. Hopefully that will continue.
