Nice compact unit - aluminum finish (more on finish below) ...
I bought this unit as an outdoor security light mounted on a sun-facing wall. It "came close" to meeting my needs.PROS:1. Nice compact unit - aluminum finish (more on finish below)2. Easily mounted on wall using two screws3. Good color temperature - soft white - not harsh 'cool white'4. Reasonably large solar panel5. Downward facing light - so it does not bother neighbors6. Good attention to weatherproofing - no exposed switches etc.7. Amount of light is good at the "bright" level (more on dim level below)Some things to be improved on before I can rate it as a really good product:1. It has a 1500mAH battery. It should have a 2200maH (or higher) capacity battery like its harsh cool-white cousinĀ One of the Best Solar Lights with 53 LED s That Produce a Cool White, Bright Light at 300 Lumens with Sensitive Motion Sensor to Use As a Solar Security, Wall, Path, Patio, Deck, Post, Landscape, Outdoor, Light Around Your Home and or Garden2. At the 'dim' level, the light is way too dim. Needs to be at least twice as bright. To support such a higher 'dim' level of brightness and still burn for 2 days, the unit needs a large capacity battery (I would recommend about 3000maH to 4000maH) It probably will also need a higher power solar panel to support charging the higher capacity battery in about 6 hours.3. The motion detection needs to be about 50% to 100% more sensitive (50% to 100% area of detection).4. The metal housing finish looks 'too industrial'. A brown finish would be more appropriate for a house.Note: I did not test it on a wall that does not get full sun - so I have no idea how well it will perform there.Hope this helps.

Best solar light by far when it worked. Original and the replacement are both dead after a short time.
I cannot rate this high enough. This was mounted over the gate on the side of the house and it is a great night light. More importantly, it is a very bright light as you approach which gives plenty of light to navigate the step and open the child lock on the gate. And unlike most solar lights that go out after 3 or 4 hours, this light lasts all night. I will buy more of these lights.I have to edit down from 5 stars. The seller has been great at honoring the warranty and sent a new one after the original one was dead after a few months. Now the new one is dead. This is the best idea of a light I have seen and the best when it worked. Unfortunately it is sealed and I can't get it worked on. So... works great when it worked. Seller continues to be responsive and send replacements to honor warranty, hopefully the third one works long term. Definately a 5 star rating when they are working but I can't rate it that until it gets reliable.

Seems like they can't take COLD
Very close to giving a 2 star rating. I bought our first one on Aug 14, 2014 and loved it enough to buy a second a few days later. They functioned as described and were just fine. This December one ceased to work and maybe a week later the second one quit as well. I thought the batteries must have suffered a premature failure as the lights were only a few months old at that point. I read reviews here where people stated that the batteries had to be ordered and were hard wired and had to be soldered out and in. That seemed to be a bit much to ask on a $50,nearly new item.I called Amazon for replacement and began the process.I had brought the lights in the house. Low and behold, they began to funtion normally when in the house! The batteries were fine. I reinstalled them outside. They failed again within days. I brought them in the house again, they are working fine again. It gets cold here in beautiful Connecticut. These lights are great until it gets cold. We also have a few cheapo Home Depot solar path lights and they have functioned fine throughout this period.Oh, I have emailed the company and they have not responded. If you're cold,BEWARE!

Expensive but much better than the rest.
I have purchased several different solar lights for use along an exterior fence, and this light is the only one that even approaches the quality and brightness of a wired lighting source. The light stays on significantly longer than any other solar light I've tried. My only complaint is that the dim state that it stays in until it senses motion is a bit too dim. I'd love it if it just stayed on brighter instead of motion activated brighter mode.I guess another complaint would be how expensive the unit is, but in this case you do get what you pay for. I'd like to line my fence with these (it would take a dozen or so) but that would get very expensive.

Cannot access the battery to replace!
Need to contact this seller. Cannot find a link. I bought their solar light and the battery only lasted a few months. It is the WORST solar light to get into to replace the battery. I need to replace it. Having to literally PRY it open and disassemble it. Still in the prying mode and broke a fingernail. Most solar lights have a sliding door to retrieve the battery. Not this thing. A $50 piece of JUNK!

Works as advertised. The light is more yellow than ...
UPDATE: Almost a year after they've been installed outside, and in the great heat here ( 50+ Centigrade summers) they survived. The top plastic protecting the solar panel came off, but th lights are still working to date. I only wish there was a way to disable the motion sensor and keep them on full brightness all the time.Works as advertised. The light is more yellow than I thought but I should have asked. They stay on all night without going off.The problem is that the light is very faint until the motion sensor kicks in and it becomes very bright. The motion sensor only workswhen iI'm almost under the light. I will try to figure a way to keep it on full light all the time and disable the motion sensor if possible.
