Anatomy and Drawing (Dover Art Instruction)

I had tried to find a copy of the book I used in college, but not available. This was a good substitute.

Like the heading says, there are tons out there. I gifted an older copy to a friends daughter, and this one was hard to find without knowing the authors name.The plates in this book are just top notch, this book focuses on drawing figures more than actual precise anatomy, the gesture examples and lines of action are some of the most inspiring i have come across, If there is one book i keep referencing back too its this one. Every artist interested in drawing the figure from imagination should have this book.

If you sketch, draw the figure you should have this in your book collection. This is one of the best figure drawing reference guide books I have. And I have over a dozen other figure drawing books!

The drawings are good and detailed but it just didn’t work out for me, so I gave it to my brother who seems to like it more.

This book is one of the best books on Human Anatomy and drawing on the market. Many instructors at different art schools recommend this book for their students to have, for their personal libary for use as a reference and as a practice book. I would say that if your wanting to learn how to draw the human body artistically this book would be a wise choice.

Excellent book, my drawing teacher showed me some single pages and I had to get the book. Shows bones, muscles and their names while also explaining proportion on female and male bodies.There's a chapter solely on hands.

Good book, very detailed drawings. Recommend for artist interested in portraiture.

First off, the seller was great, shipping took longer but seller reassured me it was on the way.The book. This is the perfect art anatomy book for beginners or those who need to get back into life drawing. I had this book 20 years back in art school and now that I’ve gone back to art, knew this was the way. Victor describes the human anatomy in the most simplest way with many basic and easy illustrations. No wonder it’s still a handy tool in teaching art.

Lots of references to practices from but almost no written explications. It's good if You're highly visual.

Best anatomy book ever seen! Full of greats illustrations of every bone and muscle in human body. The most completes images for understand and drawn the human figure.It was a book seen for first time 20 years before and after that, I was never see another best. So, I recommended it highly to every artist!
