Works exactly how it's supposed to, very versatile, is exactly what I wanted.
I usually don't write many reviews but since I was offered an incentive to write one for this item I took the opportunity to do so.Even so, this item is exactly what I was looking for to use on my front porch to alert me to packages being delivered and ppl approaching my door. I don't have a window or any other way to see easily onto my porch unless I actually walk to the door and use the peephole, and even then I can't see the area closest to my door where small packages can go undetected for hours. What I really like about this motion sensor chime is its adaptability. It has 5 volume levels including completely silent mode w just the flashing blue leds on the front of the plug-in receiver speaker unit. (I don't think those flashing leds can be turned off but they aren't so bright as to be an annoyance at night, and only flash briefly.A widely appealing feature is the 58 varying sounds that this unit offers simply by scrolling thru them using 2 buttons on side of the speaker receiver. From simple chirps and chimes to intricate songs and melodies there's more than enough variety to accommodate most needs. *U do have to hold down the volume button also located on the side for a few seconds until u hear a ding and the LEDs flash to lock in your preferred selection tho. Otherwise the default sound will remain unchanged. The motion sensor part of the unit is set to flash a few times when it's activated but can be adjusted to not light up if so desired. The sensing capability can also be changed from every couple of seconds to every 5+ seconds so that it doesn't continuously get reactivated when detecting movement. Both of these settings are controlled by 2 switches inside so the 2 screws on the back need to be removed to open and change the default settings, thus the included small screwdriver. Not a big deal but, the size of the switches and whole inside area in general is very tiny and intricate so a magnifying glass or use of a phone camera would help. Also the 2 AAA batteries included are already installed in the sensor unit, there's an on/off switch on the side, as well as a Micro USB input if u want to plug the unit in and not have to use batteries. Unfortunately for me there is no plug outlet anywhere near where I have this placed on my porch, so batteries it is.*Instructions indicate that USB cable will not act as a charger to any installed batteries. The swivel base can be mounted wherever u want using the 2 included mounting screws, and the sensor unit can be tilted and turned however needed. The receiver unit w the speaker plugs into a regular AC outlet wherever u need to hear the chime alert. I can keep the volume low enough that it's not an annoyance when activated, or loud enough that I can hear it upstairs, or even take the speaker upstairs and plug it in.Lastly, the unit is not weatherproof by any means so do not place it anywhere that it can get wet.All in all, after searching thru many different motion detector alert units and settling on this one, I am pleased w its performance and overall user adjustability. It completely meets my needs, it's small enough to be unassuming and can be placed almost anywhere.Hey, whadda you know, there's the chirp alert going off now as I write this review. Seems I just got a small package delivered I wouldnt've otherwise known about until leaving the house later 2day, excellent.I've had no problems or issues I've encountered yet w this item I'll have to see about it's durability and how long it will continue to function without defect.*Will update if it stops working unexpectedly or malfunctions in any way.Very happy w my purchase so far.Update: Motion detector has been in use for about a month now and I've noticed some false alerts in the afternoon that I think are from shadows cast on my porch of foliage moving in the wind. Not a big deal, not much can be done about shadows, and I need the detection area to be where it is, that's the area I need motion to be detected. Still functioning properly, no other issues yet.

Easy set up, easy to use
This device is great for what I need! We are a small office in a building with a barn-style door that is left open during business hours. This chime lets us know when someone is here, but we can adjust the volume enough so it isn't disruptive. There are many different sounds to choose from but only a handful fit our needs, so it was easy to choose. It is small and out of the way, and right now it is just sitting on a table, it doesn't need to be mounted which is also nice because we are able to move it whenever. Good little product, I may even buy a second one for another space!

This motion sensor/alarm works!
We've had a rash of thieves driving up from Miami to steal from our boats.I keep my boat at the house and the rats have even been known to quietly kayak their way in the darkness of night to their targets. They are stealing everything from fishing gear, expensive electronics, and even motor parts while boats sit in the water. Though I haven't been a victim, I do everything I can to prevent these vermin from completing their devious task.I came across this little device accidentally and, after reading about it, thought I would give it a try. Well, let's just say that I am shocked at the range, the motion sensor and effectiveness, and how easy it is to set up.As is common in South Florida, my house is made of concrete block. I was concerned that, like a TV antenna, the receiver would not even get a signal. I simply turned the transmitter to the on position, and plugged in the receiver, and they were already paired and ready to go. Ignore all the comments about how hard it is and that it doesn't work... that must be user error. After some side by side testing, I started to move them further and further apart. I started with just on the other side of the exterior wall and it worked! I tested it by calling with my wife's phone next to the alarm so I could here it trigger while I was outside on the boat. To make a long story short, I even tried the furthest distance through the house to the boat and the unit still operates flawlessly. I've had no false alarms, and the tested distance through concrete block, multiple interior walls, and a saltwater environment is approximately 85 feet.Though it doesn't take up much room (about the size of a bar of soap) and comes with mounting hardware, I simply set the transmitter on the floor at the helm and it silently awaits to notify me of anyone on the boat. This handy little unit can be used anywhere you'd want to get notified of someone tampering with your stuff. Mount one at your back gate, mount one on your mailbox post aimed at your driveway, mount one outside your kids window. There is a multitude of wireless uses for this little gadget. I've got a family member who lives in a condo and keeps his nice motorcycle under cover in an open carport. You could simply place one of these under the cover and it would notify him of anyone tampering with the motorcycle cover. Do you ever stay at an Airbnb or VRBO unit and want to bring your own mobile security? Place this unit on the ground in front of the door when you go to sleep and be notified instantly if someone opens that door while you are upstairs sleeping. It's brilliant and will make a great Christmas gift.Stop second guessing yourself and order this thieving rat repelling security device now.

Works well
Works well if placed correctly ........I've read a lot of reviews where they get false alarms........... I did get some at first until I realized, to, not position it where it will pick up peripheral movement or light......Once I realized it was picking traffic glare/light or movement, I re positioned it and has work well when people pass by the my balcony that runs parallel to the common walkway in front of my condominium.

one sensor dead
of the two sensors in kit one stop working in just a few hours. the blue lights come on but the alarm doesn't rec a signal from it. The other sensor is still working fine so far.kit also didn't have a manual. Just one page of paper telling how to set the sounds etc would be nice.got email from seller on how to reset sensors.they sent a link to a video.I got all sensors working now. been a week and both are still working.maybe my manual felled out of the box somewhere before it got here, if not a manual should be included .
