Poem of the Man-God Volume 1 Paperback – June 9, 2016

Have you ever wondered what was left out of the Gospels? Well, now you can find out through the writings of Maria Valtorta, a 20th Century mystic who wrote down in exquisite detail her visions of the life of Jesus, beginning with the birth of the Virgin Mary and her word-for-word conversations with Jesus. Pope Pius XII gave permission for her works to be published in 1948 and later, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, in 1992 when he was head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (before he was Pope Benedict XVI) gave his approval too. I can't recommend any more highly this remarkable book. You will not be able to put it down. It will change the way you hear the Word proclaimed at Mass, how you pray the mysteries of the Rosary and so much more!

This is a 5 volume series on the life of Christ, the details, the every day stuff. It is translated from Italian and some of the language sounds stilted, but use your immagination. Volume one is the most difficult read of the 5. Suggest reading one section at a time. Don't give up; it is worth it. And you may want to skip some of the descriptions of the areas. Series holds the imprimater of the Catholic Church. The personalities of Christ, the Apostles, the friends of Christ and his enemies come through loud and clear. Note: This book is available from the publisher in Canada at a fraction of what I paid for it on Amazon. But I had lost Volume 1 in Hurricane Katrina and needed my set to be complete.

Book is in phenomenal condition and arrived well in time.

I have searched for Volume 1 for some time. The other four volumes are at my church library and currently I am reading volume 2. Next to the Bible, these are the books to read. They tell so graphically about the life of our Lord here on earth that it is hard to put the book down and one needs to read them carefully because they are so densely packed with the Good News. Also our Lady at Medjugorje was asked about these books and her reply was that one cannot go wrong in reading them but they are not the Bible. But for me, they bring my Lord closer to me since He is so human and they flesh out the Bible for me.

Having Divine Origin, this is one of the best books even written on this planet. Has been re-printed with the title The Gospel as revealed to me by Centro Editoriale Valtortiano, who inherited the copyright from Maria Valtorta.I suggest to read this book, even few pages will open your mind and change your heart in better.

I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO THE WORLD, IT IS SO INFORMATIVE AND INSPIRING, JUST CANNOT PUT IT DOWN. IT IS PRICEY BUT WELL WORTH IT. I GOT THE USED BOOK AND THE PAGES WERE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION, JUST THE BINDING IS A LITTLE SEPARATED AND I AM HOPING TO BE ABLE TO FIX THAT SO I CAN HAND IT ON TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO READ IT IN MY FAMILY ANDTHEY ALL DO. HOPE IT WILL LAST A LONG TIME. IT IS A MUST FOR ALL TO READ IT.

The lady who wrote this book has a creative imagination, but this book is fiction. To me, the author seems to glorify Mary more than Jesus, as well.

I read this book half-way-through as a PDF on online. But this time, I brought this book as a gift to our University Chaplain. The book was in perfect condition and the shipping was faster than I've expected it to be. Loved it! Nothing to complain about!

This is a weighty volume, in more ways than one. Unfortunately, I've not had enough free time to devote to reading it at length, so am still in the early pages. It is beautiful, thus far.

If you want a closer walk with the Lord read this book. Nothing contradicts Sacred Scripture... This is the Gospel in techno -colour.
